Is there a less likeable "good" character than Frodo in the 3rd LOTR? (movie)

Seriously frick him, he's a whiny little emo bitch who doesn't trust the guy who would literally kill himself to protect Frodo. Instead he starts trusting a psycho creature who literally only lives to control the ring, and is well known for that.

Then at the end he gets all the way there and decides to keep the ring. Little piece of shite I wish Sméagol would've taken Frodo into the lava with him. He can go frick himself

In his defense, the ring had broken him down heavily by that time. His perception of things was very distorted. But I do agree with you, I just think the ring is more to blame than anything.

So he is mentally week and let the ring control him. At least Bilbo was smart enough to not become a total POS because of the ring. Frodo in the 3rd LOTR reminds me of Peter Parker in the 3rd Spiderman

Yea, there was some inconsistency in how the ring affected Bilbo and Frodo. I think I've read somewhere that the ring was working really hard on Frodo because it was trying harder to get back to Sauron at that time. With Bilbo, it was really just trying to stay hidden.

It also doesn't help that he has BY FAR the most boring storyline in the 3rd.

All this kick arse stuff is going on with battles, and ghost kings ect....

And then Frodo struggling with his emotions like an 8th grade girl...

Yeah, Sauron had no power during its time with Bilbo, for the most part. Once Sauron's power awoke, the Ring directly began to try to corrupt others into revealing its location to Sauron. The Ring just needed to chill largely out in the open until Sauron was ready, which is why he abandons Gollum.

I used to feel the same way about frodo but as I've gotten older I've started to feel for him more. He had been through a lot of shite by that point, which he willingly volunteered to do without any real obligation to do so. The ring had taken over Isildur and many other powerful men, it's no surprise that it was able to control Frodo like that too.

The films definitely did seem to make Bilbo waaaaay more badass than Frodo. He was right in the mix during the Battle of the Five Armies

See there, you're bringing book knowledge into a movie discussion

This is very much said in the movies. It says that the Ring abandons Gollum in order to go out in the open. Once Sauron's power is awoken, the Ring begins to call out to him. It is all clearly stated.

Man, I'm either bad at making jokes or yall are bad at getting them....

And I think the main issue with Frodo in the 3rd is his story is so slow and boring compared to everyone else's

Sauron was stronger and projecting his power more to bring the Ring to him because he knew the Ring had not been lost (the Nazgul had captured Gollum and found out)

Anakin Skywalker in Attack of the Clones? Damn near killed the entire franchise he was so bad. Granted the script was terrible, but the acting was atrocious.

Was legit pissed when they go "For Frodo" when he's acting like a bitch and Sam was doing all the work.

I agree to an extent. But truthfully it was the Ring's fault. It tore him apart from the inside and it changed him forever. He was never truly whole again and it sucked all the happiness out of him.

It truly amazes me what a powerful object the Ring was.

The Ring was really powerful. Remember Bilbo's face turning in to some weird thing when he reached for it and Frodo snatched it back?

Look how bad Bilbo had aged at the end of LOTR when they are getting on the boat.

Anyone who has touched The Ring is fricked. That's why Gandalf and Galadriel won't take it. If I remember correctly even Sam out lives his family and then needs to finally get on a boat and go meet the elves.

I could be wrong, it's been a long time since I've read.

I wish they'd do a Silmarillion movie. That'd be so sweet

So uninformed.

The ring grew in power the closer it got to mount doom. It also grew in weight with every step. When Sam took the ring, two things instantly happened. Sam doubled over because he could barely walk with it and Sam immediately began to have delusions of grandeur and wanted to keep the ring. He had the ring for about 4 hours. Frodo had the ring for over 1000 miles. The ring was lust and addiction personified with its base essence being the soul of an evil angel.
