In spite of him, not bc of him.
Not entirely true. Yes because of his SALES skills. Not because of his managerial skills.

Although late seasons they took away his sales ability which was bullshite.

David Brent was much more pathetic...however, if the US Office ended after only 12 or so episodes, Michael Scott may have at least been in the conversation. Things being what they are 'tho, he ended up being "extremely misunderstood" (and yes, alot of it was his own fault) moreso than "pathetic". Unlike David Brent, I could probably tolerate working for a guy like Michael Scott...as long as I just occasionally laughed at one of his lame jokes and/or nodded my head in agreement here & there, I could probably cruise through my work day without him giving me cause to punch him in the mouth

C'mon. You know David Brent would have your harmonizing with him on Free Love Freeway.

I cant think of a single time Leslie Knope manipulated anyone into doing anything. She also constantly puts her friends' needs before hers. but yeah that the trait of an "awful person"
leslie Knope is a fricking sociopath.
