In my humble opinion, it is. I realize I am not going out on a limb with that opinion or anything. Colm Wilkinson might be the best singer I have ever heard....just behind Russell Crowe

BTW referring to the original Broadway production, although I like the 2012 movie as well.

No. It's very good. But it's not the goat.

I enjoyed West Side Story way more than I should have. Little Shop of Horrors is really good too. I don't really care for musicals though.

I can't believe that some swingin' dick hasn't come in here and proclaimed Hamilton the greatest thing ever.

Mrs. Obama claims it's the greatest work of art ever conceived by man.

I'm partial to J.C. Superstar.

The 70's was a great time to be in Catholic high school. You could talk any religion teacher into showing those two movies.

I have no problem with this being the best, IMO, this and Les Miz are interchangeable.

I will agree with phantom.

I will be working and finding myself humming that shite.

But yes, trey parker and Matt stone get a nod for sheer entertainment.

Also, rock of ages is a guilty pleasure

Objectively it's probably an argument between Les Miserables and Phantom. Production values, scores, etc. are a cut above most other musicals.

My personal favorite is Sweeney Todd but I don't think it's objectively as good.
