Is John Wick the best pure action movie of all time?

Obligatory:
It is for me. I like this movie more and more every time I watch it. Of course, I'm an unapologetic action junkie.
It's on USA right now with interviews with Keanu at every commercial break. That dude loves his characters and his movies. He said the night club seen was 6 straight 14 hour days of fight scenes, flipping, shooting, and fun. There's a reason his action movies always look awesome. He might not be the best actor in the world but he damn sure throws his whole heart and soul into his roles. There's a reason movies like this, Martrix, and Point Break are infinitely rewatchable.

But pure action isn't just about action...
It's about the movie having little redeeming qualities beyond the action.
John Wick has an actual story - so that disqualifies it as the best pure action movie of all time.
The Expendables franchise?
Con Air is?
300?
London Has Fallen might be up there - damn that movie was seriously bad.
All of the above are seriously retarded movies that are nothing but mindless action.
John Wick tries to be something more - so no, it's not the best pure action movie.
I think John Wick and Payback are very similar with Mel Gibson.
Actually I think John Wick is a rip-off of Payback.
Shame Payback doesn't get the love John Wick gets.
Because Payback is a better film than John Wick.

It's up there for sure. I still think Die Hard and The Killer might be more complete films, but the Action scenes are top notch.

I actually think it's more than that. It's about redemption and loss as much as revenge. It also explores a rather unique setting and world that brings it out of typical revenge movie, IMO.

John Wick is very much like Payback (albeit Payback has a better story) - but
Pure action...no...I think John Wick tries to be a story...it's a weak story but it tries to set the table.
Chuck Norris has some films that are more pure action and far less of a story. Invasion U.S.A. - 1985?
Stallone? Rambo 2008?
Again, 300?
Body counts on these movies are insane.
