Am I seriously the first one to say Firefly?

I loved Serenity and it was a valiant attempt but it still gave me blueballs. It was a hurried, frantic attempt to wrap up what should've been 6 seasons of stuff in 2 hours.

As for Deadwood, yes, I hate how it ended and it didn't feel like closure. I can't answer Myth's challenge of offering a better ending because it's been a few years and my memory is a little fuzzy but all I know is I wanted MOAR.

eta Yes, I agree that the acting troupe was tedious and I could've done with much less of them.

I didn't want the series to end but people claiming there was no closure are wrong. The Hearst story ended about the only way it could.

In all honesty, I didn't want to see the future where Johnny gets revenge stabbing Al in the back.

I wouldn't mind seeing Cy taken out.

By the way, the acting troupe was supposed to take a LARGER role in season 4 so it might be a blessing it went out when it did.

I think Firefly ended fine. Obviously it ended too soon but the ending was fine.

Surely you jest. Are you including Serenity?

What I was thinking. I'm glad that Knauf told the fans online where he was planning to go with the series. Things were really just ramping up when it got cancelled. I just rewatched the two seasons recently. I thought that show was amazing.

Well Al had British movies lined up and Seth had Justified starting, so it had to come to an end.If you want to see the real ending and true story, the History Channel runs a true story on Deadwood occasionally. Check the schedual for it. I've seen it a few times. Hearst does get Gold rich and leaves.

No. Just the series. There was absolutely a lot of story to tell, but the ending was fine. The writers knew it was one and done and they ended it appropriately. There was no expectation of a second season.

Deadwood ended prematurely no doubt but Rome ending after just one good season and a thrown together ending in season 2 was much more disappointing.

Rome is far worse. Season 1 is awesome. Season 2 is a total downer.

They crushed season 2 & 3 together and it was just too much bleak crap to take in one season.

Terminator - the Sarah Conner Chronicles.

The last show of the series was awesome and setting up what would have been the best season of the show and they cancelled it.

I was the only one watching the show though so it was not a big deal.

As I said before. Almost every major network Sci-fi show. They always get cancelled without a satisfactory finale.

I agree that Deadwood's ending had some closure, I just hated that it ended...there was so much potential for different directions the story could've gone (whether historically factual or not).

Also agreed on Carnivale. I really, really liked that one, and hated that HBO ended it. I watched it for the first time about a year and a half ago, and was hooked on it. And while there was at least some closure, that's another one where the potential was practically open-ended and they had created such a rich world that another season (or more) could've been amazing.

Also good call on Jericho. I was devastated when that was cancelled.
