I would settle for ROTS remake. No Christopher Lee though. That's a shame.

I mean he basically did that with 7
Replace Ren with Anakin and alter some plot details and boom. You've got the prequel trilogy boiled down to one movie that shits on anything that ever happens in any of the prequels

I thought about this the other day.
I know they won't because it's such a huge property, but hell they're going to be starting on a 3rd (2nd reboot) Spider-Man franchise.
People would pay to see a remade prequel.

Since he has basically already remade episode 4, it sounds likely.

Rian Johnson is directing and writing episode 8 and writing episode 9. He's a better director than JJ and a MUCH better writer than him to boot so don't worry.

TFA is basically a remake of all the key point boiled down into one movie.

They probably should just focus on future movies. Why waste time on a story that was already told?

They should market it as a "re-mastered" version, but have them just be completely new movies.

This new trilogy will be done.
They will have stand alone stories but that won't be the same.
The direction will either be another sequel trilogy. Or re-do the prequels that everyone hates.
It will be 25 years or so since the prequels came out by this point...less time between RotJ and tPM.
The will re-do the prequels. Someone like JJ will be brought in, later in his career, to bring them back.
They will be completely different films.

I certainly prefer Rian. I think he's more thoughtful and a more interesting filmmaker. He takes more risks and is still growing as a director. He's an excellent writer already. Brilliant really.
JJ is just different. He's a SPECTACLE guy. He can make big, fun movies. He really knows how to propel action from one scene to the next. His films do tend to be a bit dumb plotwise, derivative, and lack introspection or a deep intelligence.
Very different guys.

Sounds perfect for Star Wars.
Brick is by far the best piece of work between the two. I didn't care for Looper as much as a lot of people here did.
