I think Lost lost me

Beginning season 5 and I haven't been really excited about finishing it since the flash forwards started happening. It appears they are headed back to the island?
I don't know. I was expecting more from the season 3 finale. I guess, I'm just lost.

Because Lost threads actually reflect Lost quite well. It's all the same stuff, with a lot of comments that go nowhere, reveal nothing, and end with a thud? That although they have a lot of promise, Lost threads lack actual meaning and progress.
But it feels good that we all have this experience together, because it's the experience and people that count. Not the story, or the ideas, or the mysteries. We have this. Together.

I'm more confused now then when I started the thread.
But like I was saying. It was very climatic in season 3 and season 4 just kind of zoomed by; but maybe there is another major conflict evolving and I'm not there yet?
Anyway, it's been a very entertaining show. Love that dude, Sawyer. Reminds of Grayson Capps without the guitar.

There wasn't a specific point where it lost me, I just had this feeling early on like I was starting one of those long Stephen King novels that the author hasn't really thought through to conclusion.

The only part of the show I didn't like were the flash forward/back. The flashbacks took too long and could have been shorter, I wanted more island time not the drawn out flashes.
