Netflix is better than Prime by a little, but Prime is sweet with shipping, books, and now streaming music.
I have the Roku 3 and both of these options. Plus I have HBOGO and it rocks

I have Netflix and Hula Plus.
I rarely watch Hula.It has more old sitcoms than Netflix but,just my opinion,Netflix is better.
Go on you computer to "My Roku" and check out all the channels available.
Most are free.
Espn,History,A&E are there.
Crackle is a good channel.I watch Sanford and Son there.

It depends on what you want. If you like art cinema, I'd go with Hulu, since it has just about the entire Criterion collection (almost every Kurosawa, Dreyer, Ozu, Bergman, etc. etc.).

I had Hulu plus for a total of 20 minutes. If I'm watching streamed video then I don't want commercials.
Netflix is good but Amazon Prime is the best deal. I have both Netflix and Amazon and there is some overlap but not too much. I would suggest if you only get one, go with Amazon but the extra $8 a month isn't bad for Netflix. I would suggest don't even try Hulu but buy both Netflix and Amazon.

Don't forget that Prime's free shipping can cut the time you spend in WalMart by 50% or more. This cannot be emphasized enough.

Hulu Plus would easily be the best if it weren't for the annoying ads. They're not only frequent, the same ones repeat over and over and over again until you want to scream. Also, their streaming is very prone to lags and breakdowns, at least on my Roku.
Netflix is far better because it's a joy to stream... although I do wish the content were a bit more current.
