Let's be honest. Kyle Ren was just a shitty character in general. Driver did the best he could with the material that he was provided.

The real question would be how much better would Assassin's Creed have been if it starred Adam Driver instead of Fassbender?

I really liked Driver in This is Where I leave you. The movie wasn't great but it was serviceable and Driver was good in it.

Fassbender would have been too old. he's 39, but could honestly pass for mid 40s.

Kind of like how he kept picking on the "young kid" in the movie "300," yet the actor that was supposed to have been too young to know a woman is like 4 years older than Fassbender?

Edit: granted that was over 10 years ago now and I wrote a pretty shitty sentence there, but the point still stands.

When he first took off the mask, I was pretty shocked they chose some goofy looking schmuck to play the guy that was a badass a few minutes before.

I am so tired of reading this.

Did all of you suddenly hate Vader when they took of his mask and instead of James Earl Jones it was a bloated white dude?

I forgot he was in This is where I leave you. I actually really enjoyed that movie.

None, the character could not be improved by anther actor.

I'm over Fassbender at this point. He is becoming overrated.

I saw Return of the Jedi when I was a kid. I had no idea James Earl Jones was the voice of Vader, much less who James Earl Jones was. But that's besides the point. Vader sounded like a guy that was on life support. Lo and behold, that's exactly what he looked like when they took off the mask.

Why would I "hate" who was behind the mask? My point was that it seemed like an odd choice that they would cast a guy that looked like a dumb teenager or twenty-something to play the part until you actually found out that that's exactly who the character was.

I'm not sure what you're getting pissy about.

Yes but the actor is ugly.

He's an attractive dude, but it's a quirky/unconventional type of attractive. He's easily the best actor on Girls and carried it for the little bit that I watched it.

I thought he was pretty spot on for Kylo Ren. Fassbender would've been too old and too "pretty".

And on a side note, I have a lot of respect for Driver as well. He was a Marine and is the founder of a non-profit organization of actors that travel around the world visting American military personnel and providing theater performances/entertainment for them. Vice has a video of them following Arts in the Armed Forces.

Yeh it is funny how actors somehow get put in a bucket based on roles.

There are people on this board who personally dislike Driver because they think he is "a pussy whiny millennial." When in reality, he signed up for the Marines at 18 shortly after 9/11

I've seen others say that after they saw him in Girls they could never see him as an evil villain.

He's a half step from being a rapist and a murderer in that show. He's always going nuts and breaking shite in a fit of rage.

Why? It was just stating a fact and it's the basis for the non-profit he personally started.

You don't ever say that someone "was", "used to be" or is an "ex" Marine. Once you are a Marine, you are one for life. It's part of their deal..
