Watching on VH1 Classic for the umpteenth time and I'm astonished by how much I love this movie.

There isn't a bad song in this whole thing (right down to the credits featuring the whole ensemble doing Jailhouse Rock)

The cast is outstanding.

The cameos are unparalleled.

The humor is just classic.

That chase scene is quite possibly one of the greatest things ever devised and committed to film.

The opening is iconic.

This movie is one of the greatest ever.

It is one of my favorite movies of all time.

A total entertainment package.

A perfect blend of comedy, music, singing, dancing, and action (the car chases).

It is an absolute masterpiece film and should be required viewing for every Senior in high school.

I watched a documentary about National Lampoon the other night. Most of the first cast for SNL came from National Lampoon, and Second City before that. There is video of Belushi spoofing a variety of musicians in a musical satire for National Lampoon that had an extended run as a play. Chevy Chase, Mill Murray, Harold Ramis, Gilda Radner, Brian Doyle-Murray were all in it. But Belushi was the focus of the group; he was just incredibly talented.

It's got one of my favorite all-time quotes.

"We're 240 miles from Chicago.We've got a full tank of gas,a half a pack of cigarettes,it's dark and we're wearing sun-glasses."

"Hit it."

So many great quotes-

quote:

Elwood: What kind of music do you usually have here?
Claire: Oh, we got both kinds. We got country *and* western.
