Hoffman was great, but overall, this movie sucks.

Too long, took itself far too seriously. Topped only by the excruciating 1941 among Spielberg misfires.

I remember it getting mixed reviews but I also remember it being one of those movies that everyone saw and liked. It got an Oscar nomination for special effects fwiw, I remember it lost to T2.

Yeah, Hook seemed to be one of the first movies where the film critics just decided "let's all find pedantic shite to complain about that the common moviegoer couldn't care less about" and they just all hopped aboard this nonexistent anti-Hook bandwagon.

And speaking of, I thought the storyline of Peter Pan growing up, forgetting his past, and having to go back to NL to save his kids is a fascinating modern twist, and I think Williams did a fantastic job of playing the modern day workaholic, absentee father.

I loved it when it came out, and I always make a point to watch it or DVR it when it comes on TV.

If you have netflix...its on there...watch from beginning to end. DO IT.

Honestly though...its really quotable...at least for me and a few of my friends.

That is really hard to believe, especially coming from you.

My ONLY complaint is that he claims to have ran away when he was like 4 months old in a stroller. Other than that, 5 stars.

It just now clicked for me that we lost both Peter Pan and Smee from this movie this year.

Yeah, that part was sort of weird. They could've easily rewritten that for him to say that he was a 10 year old who didn't want to grow up.

Also, if he went to Neverland as an infant, how did he grow up to be a teenager if you don't grow up in Neverland?
