I didnt think the show could get worse but it did. Carrie is completely batshit crazy...and they give her the job of station chief in Kabul? What in the actual frick.
The thoughts about killing her baby? Great stuff.
And nice to see we are going the full anti drone/sympathize with terrorists route with the show.
Did enjoy Quinn snagging that whale though.
And poor Peter Russo, didnt make it through the first season of House of Cards and didnt make it through the first episode of Homeland.

More Quinn? Check
No Dana? Check
Got Carrie away from that ginger demon baby so the show doesn't spend the whole season going down that teen mom MTV show rabbit hole? Check
I'm in.

Giving Carrie a bipolar disorder (or any other mental/emotional defect) was such a stupid move for the show. Not only does it strain credibility in the CIA, it has now become this baggage the show has to carry, and I think they've finally figured out that good characters + good storyline + good subject matter can make a solid show. It doesn't have to be all crazy CIA lady and family drama and terrorists masquerading as presidential candidates.
The Wall Street Journal has a TV show review every Monday. This season, they have a dialog with a legit CIA museum curator. After the first episodes, he evicerated the show for it's lack of realism. The tradecraft shown by Station Chief (Corey Stall) was laughable. He also brought up the fact they named Carrie (mental disorder and all with nearly zero seniority) the new Station Chief.
I still enjoy the show, and will continue watching as I enjoy the character interactions along with most of the storylines. It would be nice if they paid a little more respect to the techniques of the CIA/military.

i laughed my arse off at quinn and the big guh. It reminded of the restaurant scene in Shallow Hal.
"Looks like we're too late, food's probably all gone"
"What are these chairs made of?
uh, steel?
Well you should get it welded better in the corners!"

Yep. It's a very network attitude, wherein simply making a smart show about the world's most secretive and intriguing profession isn't enough, we have to add ridiculous drama to get people to tune in.

Thanks, I know not to watch it now.

I logged onto TD for the sole purpose of posting how much I hate Carrie. Her abandoning her baby makes my disdain even worse. She is just an awful human being.
Didn't think it was possible to like a show while absolutely despising the main character. Saul and Quinn make up for her, though Quinn is becoming a beta.

I'm not so sure we're supposed to "like" Carrie. Clearly, she's fricked up. But I think she's the vehicle, maybe catalyst, for some intriguing story lines. And Claire Danes is a talented actress, so there's that.
