Homeland Question (No Spoilers Please)

I am currently on episode 12 (the season finale) of the second season. I love the show so far, but have a question. The last two Showtime shows I have watched were Weeds and Shameless. Both of those shows were great at first then fell off in my opinion. Weeds more so than Shameless, but I ended up finishing weeds and lost interest in Shameless.
I have heard season 3 of Homeland wasn't all that great, but should I keep watching?

Yes, season 3 certainly had a drop off to me, but season 4 is excellent.

It does go downhill before it picks back up. I would say the last season was one of the best. It was probably one of the worst season finale's ever but the episode before that was outstanding. It starts a little slow in that season but really steps it up only to flatline with the finale.

I watched the final two episodes last night. I nearly lost my mind when I read the finale had a 100% rating on RT. Such a let down after Episode 11.

If you like season 2, then you'll be fine. I thought S2 was a shite show after how awesome S1 was. Either way though, S3 was awful. As mentioned, they redeemed themselves with S3 until the horrible finale.
And Shameless is awesome. Weeds did fall off, but still entertaining enough.

Season 3 started off rather slowly but picked up at the end. Season 4 was pretty solid. But the first 2 were by far the best IMO.

Fast forward every scene with Dana and S3 becomes much more tolerable.
