Empire Strikes Back > Star Wars.
Empire Strikes Back is a fan favorite to be sure. But many modern filmmakers who got into the biz in the latter half of the 90s and early-00s would probably cite Star Wars as more of an influence then The Empire Strikes Back. That was the film they saw first that blew their minds.

Personally, Godfather II is superior to Godfather for me, but I know I´m in the minority.

Very good list overall but this one doesn't belong in the top 100 much less at #36 above a long list of much better movies IMHO.

The Dark Knight ranked higher than Sunset Boulevard.

Avatar shouldn't make a top 500 list.
