I have Xbox 360 in bedroom and PS4 in living room to stream apps through. Have subscription to Netflix and Hulu Plus. I bum HBO GO and other log ins from family members. Don't miss cable at all.

for sports you can get slingtv with espn, it's around 20-25 a month. Don't know what channels the other 2 come on but look at slingtv's channel lineup and they probably have it.
first though you'll need an apple tv or amazon stick or roku to get you streaming.

Because you steal it, must be nice.

I cut the cord almost a year ago and don't miss it. I have Hulu / Netflix / Amazon Prime apps through my PS3, a $15 antenna that gets me High Def NBC, ABC, FOX and local stations for free. When I want to watch sports I either go to a bar or to my apartment building's "media center" which has a nice big screen and is almost always empty.

Is it stealing if someone gives you their log in and password and can be used on up to 5 devices?

not stealing if family members or friends give you the pw. If HBO really wanted to stop this, believe me they could and would

We cut cable last summer, and don't really miss it. My wife and I were already watching most of our TV through Netflix, and they have episodes of Anthony Bourdain on there.
If you are starting from scratch I would look into one of the Amazon Fire TV devices. They have deals that include a membership for Amazon Prime if you don't already have it. A membership with Prime gives you "Free" two day shipping online and their Prime streaming video service that rivals Netflix. Netflix and Amazon have a very similar selection of included content, but Amazon will also allow you to pay for movie rentals and purchases to give you a broader selection beyond what is currently on Prime.
Amazon also allows you to buy a season of shows on some cable channels a la carte. Netflix only picks up a new season of a show around the time it is available to buy in the store. Therefore Netflix alone keeps you a year behind on most shows.
Netflix has better exclusive content, but you are able to pay for rentals of these shows on Amazon after several months.
All network stations are broadcast over the air in full HD, but the quality depends on where you live and how much you want to mess with an antennae. With the exception of sports, most of the shows can be watched on Hulu for an $8/mo subscription. There are also some movies on Hulu, but the selection isn't as good as Netflix/Amazon, and they subject you to commercials.
For sports, SlingTV seems to be a viable option, but remember that you can pick up everything on Fox, CBS, ABC, and NBC over the air for FREE. Also, you may be able to use the WatchESPF App depending on your ISP or morality. My suggestion is to just find a local sports bar, or go watch a big game at a friend's house.
Another device to consider is the Apple TV. It allows you to use Amazon, Netflix, Hulu, and other video apps. Currently it comes with a free month to HBO now which allows you to subscribe to HBO without cable. If you have any Apple devices, AppleTV will allow you to mirror the screen for picture slideshows or whatever you want.

Yes, it's definitely stealing.

No, it's not.
It's shared. Someone is still paying, and usually there is a limit. It is no different than having 5 people at your home watching or 1.
Is it stealing when my friends come over to my house to watch my subscription? It is absolutely not stealing.
Just like amazon prime. You pay $100, but you can also give it to up to a certain number of others to use for no additional cost.
I have Cox Cable, they allow me to have up to 7 e-mail accounts for different people. They allow those very people access to my cable subscriptions for apps. Rather than giving someone my actual account login and password, I am allowed to make them their own account with their own login information. Now when I do this, they may be limited to some special features, however they are allowed to access things such as Watchespn, etc.

What city do you live in?
This is important as if you live in a rural area, it may be difficult or impossible to pick up channels over the air.
I'm 50 miles from the closest city, and I may end up spending $200 on an antenna just to hope to get the channels over the air.
As far as ESPN, you'll want SlingTV or preferably someone with a WatchESPN app.

We have basic cable and Amazon Fire TV. We use my mother in law's information for HBO Go and Showtime Anytime app.

Is 6mbps enough to consistently stream Netflix, HBOGo, or WatchESPN through the chromecast app on my phone or through a Roku?
