I still don't understand how that weapon could hold up to a lightsaber. The lightsaber should've sliced right through that thing.

I totally agree. I also take issue with people bleeding from blaster or light saber wounds.

Yeah, the movies have also shown multiple times that light sabers aren't God mode.

Finn was the ideal trooper actually. Well they thought he was. I hate that the movie didn't show this more but he was one of their best in testing.

The energy emission portion of that weapon is only on the top 3rd of the weapon. During the fight, Finn actually hits the middle 3rd of that weapon (where there is no energy emission). The lightsaber should've cut right through that part of the weapon if a lightsaber can cut through blaster doors.
