I had a bigger problem with Phasma just shutting down the base defense without putting up a fight.

My single biggest issue with the movie. She should have at least put up a fight.

Stormtroopers suck with blasters so badly they've started giving them clubs.

Obi Wan jinxed them.

"These blast points... too accurate for sand people. Only Imperial Stormtroopers are so precise."

Never hit their target again.

lord. i didn't think Finn could be worse

yet somehow he is

Yes, Sorry, busy day at work.

He is in the top 1% of all troopers in training and testing. No matter the skill he has tested at he has always been at the top.

The attack on Jakku was his first live battle though. He has not attacked innocents before.

They looked at him as the ideal stormtrooper.

For more

quote:

"You have great potential, 2187. You are officer corps material. Your duty is to the First Order above everything. Nothing else comes before that." ~ Captain Phasma

quote:

FN-2187, known to his fellow troopers as Eight-Seven, was seen by his comrades and superiors as an ideal First Order stormtrooper, and consistently scored top marks as a cadet.[4] Finn was also once in charge of sanitation duties at Starkiller Base.

quote:

The simulation was monitored by Captain Phasma and General Hux. After the training session ended, Phasma spoke to the troopers and told them that their performance was adequate. Each was given a review of their performance, with Eight-Seven being commended on his kill rate and the completion of his objective. She further said that his fellow soldiers should follow his example. The other troopers were dismissed, but Eight-Seven was ordered to stay so Phasma could question why he rescued Slip, as it was not the first time Eight-Seven had to help him. Phasma ordered him to stop, as she said the First Order was only as strong as its weakest link. Rather than fixing the problem, Phasma said he was allowing it to persist and weaken the group. Phasma sensed hesitation on his part, but he assured her that he would stop helping Slip.[

Basically he is supposed to be skilled but with a heart.

The movie showed this to an extent but should have left out the baton trooper knocking him down and the janitor comment. As it really made the audience see him as 2nd rate.

My problem is I don't see why the Stormtroopers would be carrying that. The only Jedi that's still around is Luke, and I doubt a Stormtrooper even with that would stand a chance against him. Just seems to be crazy prepared in the one in a billion shot they run into a Jedi.

Who says the weapon was only for Jedi? Could have just been a melee weapon a lot of them are trained with. He does throw down a gun before pulling it out if I recall.

Maybe he knew who Finn was and wanted to kill him in hand to hand combat. Finn only had a Saber. It seemed personal when he called him a traitor. Maybe it will be somebody he knew in training.

With that said it was a very silly scene and should not have been in there.

But I'm guessing Affirmative Space Action had something to do with it. Seeing as how Captain Phasma gave in without even a hint of a fight. The Empire has fallen mightily

phasma turned out to be a no nothing character that completely shut down the shields with the quickness after being threatened.

I mean, that's sheer loyalty isn't it?

If one of your top commanders doesn't even offer a modicum of resistance, what does that say about your organization?

And these people somehow built a Giant Planet Death Star without anyone noticing and managed to wipe out the entire republic?

Holy Deuce Ex Machina batman!

What's funny is how chubby and out-of-shape he appeared to be for a storm trooper.

I still fail to comprehend how this new weapon or the second edition of the Death Star were ever constructed. Do the Rebels/Resistance/Republic not conduct thermal or magnetic scans which would detect massive construction projects and the accumulation of such a substantial amount of metal and energy?

For a group whose reconnaissance teams can manage to still the plans for the Death Star, they really suck at stopping these weapons from being constructed in the first place.

Was he used in Ferguson?
