Harry Potter has the emotions of a teenage girl

I know he's a teenager himself but his emotions and their impact on his decision making is striking when I read the books as an adult.
I'm re-reading Goblet of Fire and it is particularly glaring.
-When Ron doesn't believe that Harry didn't put his name in the Goblet, instead of talking to Ron rationally he just freaks out and refuses to talk to him unless he apologizes making the whole situation worse.
-When Cedric gives him the tip about the egg after the Yule Ball he doesn't want to take his advice because Cedric is dating Cho Chang.
That's just two examples but for someone who does so much and is such an important person in a war he sure is an emotional mess

Longbottom was the real chosen one.

Nearly all teenagers have the emotions of a teenage girl.

Still better than fricking Ron.
Part of me wishes Weasley died during Wizard's chess in book 1.

I'm often amazed by how short those books could have been if Harry and company had simply told Dumbledore wtf was going on.

fricking this. I enjoyed reading the series but that book was hard to get through. Harry was a complete whiny emo bitch in that one.

It's only a matter of time before Rowling admits that Harry is transgender and ruin the whole damn series.

When those first formative 11 years of your life are an unending cycle of abuse followed by neglect followed by more abuse, with literally no demonstration of anything remotely approaching a healthy attitude toward you, and no reason to believe you are loved or even wanted, you probably get a slightly unhealthy emotional outlook.
Add in that he was a teenager anyway and dealing with more bullying and the weight of Great Events, and I think the fact that Harry Potter wasn't clinically insane is a testament to, well, J.K. Rowling's unwillingness to traumatize a generation of kids or something by making it realistic.

Book was written by a woman. Got to think that sometimes when writing a part for a young boy, she used her own emotions and interpretations of how she would feel in that situation.

HBP the movie was the most disappointing because of the movie focusing on Ron and his women issues rather than more of the backstory of Tom Riddle.

Well... when you get right down to it Harry Potter is a bit an arsehole. He cheats on tests and gets someone to do his homework. He breaks the rules without any consequences. Half of the bad things that happen in the books happen because he never bothered to tell someone in authority about something going wrong.
He is, however, a better lead character then Neville would have been because Longbottom would have been smart enough to see through half of everything that happened and we'd have books like "Neville Longbottom and the easily solved plot" a ten page pamphlet.

Eh not really. Wouldn't his parent's have already been captured at this point? So then they wouldn't have been able to defend him, thus no spell rebound.
Regardless, JKR has stated it is Harry, so it is Harry.

They were tortured in the aftermath of the deaths of Lili and James.

Spoilers
Is everyone forgetting he's a 14 year old going through a tournament that everyone believes you can actually die in, and he has a piece of voldemort's soul attached to him, which causes him to have extra bad anger issues, especially OotP?
