I know many only think of him as Han Solo or Indiana Jones as far as blockbuster movies go, but let's not forget his post-Last Crusade run of big budget, Action/Thriller films he made. They were damn good.

Patriot Games 1992
The Fugitive 1993
Clear and Present Danger 1994
Air Force One 1997

That's a murderer's row that genre with The Fugitive probably being the best of the lot. You forget how good it was and it was a huge sensation too at the time. I remember them even running the TV series finale before the movie came out.

I know he essentially played the same part on all these movies, but they all had that high budget, well done, slick feel to them and really held the audience. Sadly these types of movies have almost gone by the wayside in favor of Spider Man 17 starring some 21 yr old Brit nobody's really heard of.

It's incredible that most actors would die just to have that 6 yr span Ford did, yet it's almost an after thought in what might be considered the most succesful career in Hollywood history.

That list of movies actually shows how much Ford declined in the early to mid 90s after his legendary 80s run.

I hope Blade Runner isn't remade anytime soon. By the time he made that film he was already a decent legend. In the 90s he definitely got a second wind and IMO could still be drawing in his later age with specific roles.

Morgan Freeman still does well.

Still the best legal thriller novel. Way better than any of Grisham's stuff.

It's not a 90s movie (it came out in 2000), but I thought "What Lies Beneath" was a nice latter-day Ford rebound.

It actually started with American Grafitti. His run from 73' to 89', to me, is unmatched in success, even Hanks can't match the sheer hugeness and cultural impact of those Ford movies.

The point I was trying to make was his early 90s run shouldn't be overlooked because some of those movies were amd still are damn good. The two Jack Ryan movies and the Fugitive are great, big budget thrillers.

Now Air Force One was not the best, but it kind of marked the end of his big blockbuster stuff for a while.

I just meant his 80's run of consecutive movies, but yes throw in American Graffiti, The Conversation and Star Wars it is a stout resume.

agreed, but throw in Presumed Innocent, which was a pretty big summer movie based on a best seller in 1990.
