Agree to disagree. The only way I think that would work is if they were going with a "everybody dies and the world of men is no more" scenario. Then they could have the wall come down mid to late season 8 and they could do 2-3 episodes of everybody getting killed by the wights that pop up everyfrickenwhere. Wouldn't exactly be bittersweet though.
Agree to disagree, sure, but keep in mind all the main characters basically live in fortresses. I think they'd be able to survive it somewhat, and I don't think the animals rising would be all that vicious save for bears and wolves.

So, back to the current upcoming episode.
I get the feeling we're going to get "blockbuster movie action scene" in each of the final episodes, we got it with Drogon and the Dothraki laying waste to the Lannisters.
What's next up, in terms of huge scale event? Wall coming down, but there are 2 other episodes too. Sack of King's Landing seems like it would be on the list. That leaves us one other huge event.
Any guesses?
Maybe the Stark kids going all "The Shining" on Littlefinger?

I'm thinking the next episode (possibly 2) will be a realignment of chess pieces.
I don't see any major battles or fights breaking out. Major characters (Varys? LF?) might get killed, but I don't think we'll see any fireworks for a while.
I hope I'm wrong, though.

speaking of dying, who's killed more people Dany+Drogon or Cersei+Qyburn?
Dany:
Khal Drogo + witch
ol bluelips, Xaro xhohan daxos, and Doreah
Masters of Astapor
Masters of Mereen
some little girl
some sons of harpies
some Dothraki
more Astapor, Yunkai, and Mereenese people sieging mereen
Lannister army soldiers
Cersei:
she killed one of her friends when she was little
Robert
Pycelle
probably 1000 people in the Sept and surrounding area
Septa Unella
Ellaria Sand and sand snake
I may have missed some because I am going off the top of my head

I was hoping the final battle would happen South.
I really think it will, because I think the Night King has a very specific place he wants to reach: the Isle of Faces in the Gods Eye.
Think about it: with the revelation of how the White Walkers came to be it would make sense for them to want to wipe out the last true stronghold of the CotF and the men who allied with them (and thus in a twisted way those men probably look like betrayers to the White Walkers). Everything else is just lagniappe.

I think that the NK and his wights attacking a castle like they did Hardhome would overrun almost any of the Nrthern Castles (who all seem to be undermanned ATM. The NK could raise the freshly dead defenders if the initial battle didn't go his way and have tehm attack (presumably from within the keeps.......
Having all the dead of Westeros spring to life would result in a very quick demise of all living in Westeros, IMHO. Remember there are relatively few trained knights in terms of the total population. Most people are peasants, surfs or farmers and would run shrieking from an advancing zombie.

I don't think there will be that many dead south of the Wall. Keep in mind Dany did largely took care of the casualties south of the Wall by lighting them on fire. I'm just thinking a few dozen dead people and some animals, with the exception of one place being a notable exception (Casterly Rock would be my guess). It's just clear enough that they're all fricked once the army of the dead shows up. It's not like Zombies if they're bitten that they turn into one. It won't be anywhere near the roster the Night's King currently has at his disposal.

i dont think that wall is coming down.. in the intro to the last episode, the lake/ocean/?? next to Eastwatch is frozen. they'll probably just walk right around it

There is no fricking way you have a show centered around a damn wall just to have the villains walk around it.

Yeah the wall has to come down in some form or fashion.

Meh. The Lannisters haven't lived up to their promises to give him a castle. Tyrion can make him a better deal. Bronn is a mercenary, after all, a good one.

I really hope the series ends with Bronn living in a castle with a beautiful highborn wife .

Not to sound like a Hodor, but are the Iron Islands not going to be affected by it since they're in the sea? Or will the Night King freeze all bodies of water so that places like Bear Island, the Iron Islands, etc. will be affected too by him?

I'm thinking the NK has powers we haven't seen yet. In any case, there won't be any place in Westeros unaffected by the Army of the Dead. Otherwise.....what's the point?
