Are you seriously complaining about us coming here to tell you that we know for a fact that Billy is a reader and to get him out of your thread?
I said this thread went to shite. That's what I said and that's what I meant. Billy wasn't even posting in here, so it was three pages of someone saying "Billy is a reader" and then other readers sicking his duck for saying something about it. Like I've said numerous times, I appreciate ya'll trying to keep your ilk out of these threads (and the last week or two have been pretty solid). But this thread still went to shite though.
Napoleon sort of sums up what I mean:
quote:
I'm starting to think the reason so many of ours post here is because it IS taboo.
.....
All this stuff did, was derail the discussion and validate a theory.
RA spoilers, but no reason to post. At all, (hypocrite, sorry)
And FWIW, I do understand this:

To the non-readers, I am seriously just trying protecting you on this. Do I think Silverfox could be a reader? Meh, maybe, but I don't give a frick because his posts aren't telling either way. This is different.
My point is that we're now on the 5th straight page of discussing Billy Mays (or Silverfox) instead of the show, and that discussion involves more readers than nonreaders.

My only problem with Billy is, how many people are that confident in things that happen in this series? Every watcher in this thread is saying "How the eff are we supposed to know who this guy torturing Theon is?" And then Billy Badass comes in saying its so obvious. It just doesn't add up for me and I have rewatched with subtitles and paid attention to the best of my ability.
If in fact, Billy you are just really freaking smart, then cool, that's awesome you picked up on all of this.
I was actually wrong initially about a lot of that storyline - I posted that I thought the Torturer didn't have any men with him. I also though that maybe Theon's captors were dressed as Boltons.
I rewatched some season 2 episodes and validated some of the stuff I remembered.
Robb did tell Lord Bolton that all Ironborns would be granted mercy if they helped bring Theon to Robb, alive. It happened in Season 2, Episode 8. So that tells me Ironborns captured Theon after Lord Bolton told his Bastard to convey the message. I watched it last night.
If what I posted came off as me acting like I knew more than what the show has given us, I apologize.

Fair enough. I don't want to sit back and watch the oncoming train. It is apparent that something is going to get ruined for the group. Posts have been RAd and are still up.
Some of what was going on last night was just good natured back and forth between readers and non-readers. Both sides were participating and it was totally innocent. It didn't happen until the 30th page of the thread.

Just curious why did you wait till episode 6 to start joining the discussion in these threads. Seemed like you are well versed with the show and site you would have been here earlier in the season
I just started watching the show about a month ago. Watched Season 2 first because it was On Demand. I had to use HBO Go to watch Season 1 afterward.
I finally caught up to live episodes a couple of weeks ago.
My goal for the Theon discussion was to put together the pieces to find out what actually happened - I assumed a lot of people had forgotten the small details since it was almost a full season ago, and my memory was fresher. Big mistake on my parts as it turns out

Don't get me wrong, I realized that obviously. But the accusations of Sf and Billy started on page 29 and now we're on 33 and it's the same thing. That's 5 pages. But in fairness, the thread went to shite with the whole "what should we call bookreaders?" discussion IMO. And that started drawing in you readers into a thread you (for lack of a better term) don't belong in.

And even though it might seem like I'm pissy or bitching, I definitely appreciate that. And I know most nonreaders do as well. But like Napoleon said, it can be done from much more afar than the last 5 pages.

There are zero RAs right now as I type this. So either the posts have been handled or they need to be re-requested.

People love the witch hunt - the only reason why I'm posting about it now is because after 2 days I came back and people were still talking shite... the interwebz is serious business apparently.
And to be honest, is Theon's storyline even worth everyone getting emotionally-hijacked over? I have stated nothing that wasn't on the show, and it's one story out of 10 for fricks sake

Yeah that's my bad. I figured we could keep that between watchers but I should have known they were chomping at the bit to get involved.

Billy did use the "Sports" defense.
"I don't read fantasy books I read books about sports"
I have seen that with.
"I never watched Saved by The Bell (or any popular show or Movie) I played Sports"
" I didn't have time to see Star Wars, I was watching Sports"
It's always funny to me, that 'defense' gets used a lot.
TTT used it for saying why he never saw Star Wars, just stuck in my head.
Books are books, these are good but not for all.
My G/f is a reader, but doesn't like the show. I wonder if there is a thread for that.

I don't read fantasy books. Do I hate them? No. Do I care if anyone does? No. Does it make you a bad person? No.
The whole point is I haven't read any GOT books hence why I talk about the show in this thread.
This thread has turned completely degenerate, btw.
So about Jon Snow - what do you think his story does in the next few eps? Is he going to try to flip Ygritte away from her wildling clan? Her whole "you be loyal to me" plea makes me think he's going to have a choice on this matter in the near future...

Also, I think it's important that the readers don't bring any attention to correct guesses (or incorrect ones for that matter). Someone said it earlier (don't remember whom) that when people get up in arms about a correct guess, it let's everyone know what's gonna happen. In essence, it spoils shite.
And I'm not saying that's what happened in this thread necessarily, just more of a point of note...which all goes back to readers and nonreaders (or "awesome people" and "dick swallowers" or whathaveyou) not really being able to discuss things because they're on different knowledge bases.

I posted that... it's unavoidable.

Pretty much - it's why I've always been befuddled why verified book readers even bother posting in here - makes no sense whatsoever. There are 2 other show threads to post in.
All I've done is provide cliffs notes of old episodes and some clown gets upset, implies I'm a book reader, and mouth-breathers follow suit because it's fun to label people an evil book reader apparently.

What is Billy Mays doing in here? Are we not sacrificing him?
Posted on 5/9/13 at 5:41 pm to iluvdatiger
Why don't we sacrifice you? This thread is trying to move on and you keep bringing up old shite
