How do you folk watch this show with hodors? It's unbearable. I get that GRRM created quite a vast universe but six seasons deep into the show I shouldn't be getting questions like "who is Catelyn Stark?" "Oh what family is he from again? (Blackfish)" etc. I don't know how you guys do it every week with a Hodor SO.

I have to stop the show about every 5 minutes to explain things/characters to my wife (hodor). I definitely had to explain who the Blackfish and Edmure Tully were this week.

It doesn't really bother me that much. I like that she is into the show.

It's kind of our Sunday night ritual of watching GoT, then having an hour long conversation after the show. It's kinda fun to hear her theories from a non book readers perspective.

Meh, I watch it with my wife and she has questions every week. It's not a big problem.

I don't. My wife makes fun of me for watching a show with magic and witches and dragons...and then goes in the other room to watch Malificent.

I stopped watching at my friends house this year because he asks so many goddamn questions throughout the episode

Hodor SO.

mine is a hodor as well but it seems like every time I try to explain something to her she gets annoyed and says she knew that

she also rarely asks me questions.

Personally, I like answering my wife's questions. The light bulb moments she has are one of my favorite parts of the experience.

I don't have a SO. Not a problem for me.

What has helped me this season is that we just started a rewatch of season 1, it's pretty crazy how many things are in play in season 1 that mirror the current season.

Questions isn't the problem. Questions during and throughout the episodes is the problem

I'm definitely more patient with my wife than I would be with a friend or someone else

Questions throughout

I can see how that can be annoying. I usually field 2 an episode then discussion after the episode.

Honestly, I can't imagine enjoying this show half as much as I do now without reading the books.

This. I'm finally getting around to watching the show and catching up, and I couldn't imagine enjoying it without having read the books, other than the tits and arse.

This.

She doesn't watch often, she thinks it's silly to watch a show that people come back from the dead and people sleep with their sister. Then goes and watching Days Of Our Lives

I sneakily converted my SO into a reader. Then he was hooked.

my fiance is the other way. She stopped watching the show because it wasn't true enough to the books.

we watch it live then re-watch it with subtitles

she reads the summaries she likes and we watch After the Thrones

she has also re-watched seasons 1-5 so she is pretty much my equal when it comes to understanding show lore.

she still doesnt understand strategy and some of the long game people like LF are playing. All of the recent Bran visions stuff has thrown her for a loop
