Plus it lets Tyrion completely off the hook for murdering his own father.

My theory is that Doran knows that Oberyn had already executed Tywin, and Tyrion spared him a lot of pain.

All it does with Tyrion is cheapen his relationship with his father and somehow make him ride dragons.

Well, it would also give Tyrion the family that he never really had with Dany and Jon.

But like I said, I don't buy that theory. Cersei and Jamie would be far more likely, and would add more "drama" to Tywin's relationship with his children.

Ok lets say once u have wagons and an entourage, you travel at half speed of 12mph....then how long would it take you?

The wall is apparently stated as being 300 miles long or 100 leagues. That legend on the map is not correct.

If we do accept it as correct, then its about 200 miles from Casterly to KL. IF you travel 8 hours a day, you can bee there in three or so days by wagon.

I think 10 days is more accurate.

There is a lot of stuff in the books that led people to believe that Oberyn poisoned Tywin. Rough guess over the pass few years a majority(slight) of those that post in the crackpot thread believe that Tywin was already dying.

This is the type of stuff that gets posted in the middle ground thread?

The middle ground thread basically makes anything in the books fair game up until the point in the show. Which allows for more wiggle room with theories and background info. But there's not book spoilers past what's happened in the show

They are both dead on the show, nothing new will come out. On the show Oberyn was alone in a room with Tywin and got something off the dresser before shaking hands.

K I can live with that.

I almost feel like it's safer in here, because anyone that gets out of line gets called out immediately.

I've seen the poisoning theory, but I don't see what it adds. In the end, Tyrion is the one who directly kills his father, and that's all that matters.

Well, that's just corny. Plus I can't imagine Dany ever being all that accepting of Tyrion, even if they do ally.

Exactly. At least it adds something. Jaime would be quite horrified to be the Mad King's son, but I think Tyrion wouldn't care so long as he is not Lord Tywin's son.

But the show is basically passing the books now, so the book reader thread is almost unnecessary now.

Basically, it gets sniffed out quick because people like Fluerty nipples in the Hodor thread can't come in here claiming to be a Hodor and then start spewing off book stuff to sound cool because people will know instantly.

It's also way more peaceful. You'll be happy with the transition

You know deep down that the story will end with Dany and Jon married, with little brother or cousin or whatever Tyrion would be ruling with them as hand of the king, all as one happy family.

Yeah pretty soon from what I hear the concepts of "Hodor" and "Maester" will be irrelevant

Which will be super interesting to see how that plays out

Basically a war is coming. "The war of Three Threads"

I can't answer that but here is why I think he was poisoned-

All of the things that were shown or stated about the possibility of Oberyn taking out Tywin have already been shown or printed.

Oberyn to Tyrion
-Your father,” said Prince Oberyn, “may not live forever.” Something about the way he said it made the hairs on the back of Tyrion’s neck bristle. Suddenly he was mindful of Elia again, and all that Oberyn had said as they crossed the field of ashes. He wants the head that spoke the words, not just the hand that swung the sword.

Oberyn to Tyrion
“To be sure, I have much to thank your sister for. If not for her accusation at the feast, it might well be you judging me instead of me judging you.” The prince’s eyes were dark with amusement. “Who knows more of poison than the Red Viper of Dorne, after all?

Grand Maester Pycelle explained several poisons in detail during Tyrion’s trial-
“Widow’s blood, this one is called, for the color. A cruel potion. It shuts down a man’s bladder and bowels, until he drowns in his own poisons.” Tywin hadn't been able to shite for a couple of days when Tyrion found him.

What wasn't shown on the show, was how bad Tywin's body smelled at his funeral can up a bunch. They didn't gloss over this part came up a bunch.

“Do not presume to speak to me of fitness. Not after the stinking mockery you made of my lord father’s corpse.”

“The silent sisters removed Lord Tywin’s bowels and organs, drained his blood… every care was taken… his body was stuffed with salts and fragrant herbs…”

“Oh, spare me the disgusting details. I smelled the results of your care.“
