How many times is this plot device used in this story? Jon has been miraculously saved at the last minute 3 times alone.
Does this bother anyone else?

This phrase should be banned

Quit watching if it bothers you

Why? It's a pretty blatant tactic in the show. I still love the show - but that doesn't change the fact this has occurred many many times.
Is this one of those instances where we "fanboy" something, turn blind eyes, and then 10 years later admit the obvious?

The Lord of Light brought him back for a reason. Obviously his mission isn't done yet.

I can handle something if it "bothers me". I'm not a little cry baby bitch like most people these days.
I'll still enjoy the show. I'm asking for a rational discussion about something obvious.

Yall have beaten that phrase into the ground this week. Quit parroting each other.

It's just a show for our entertainment.

If that's the logic behind it, doesn't that remove story tension? At this point they might as well say Jon is immortal until he defeats the night king and be done with it

When things are set up, it's not DEM. When it's used as a plot device, that's it. Stannis has saved him, the Vale, and now Benjen in situations where it's at the very last moment and it's unexpected. Right place; right time. Unfortunately, you get it more in series where the writers are out of ways to create drama.

Oh there's the typical retarded "it's a fictional story so plot lines are irrelevant" response. Came quicker than I anticipated.
With your logic let's just have lightning strike Jon granting him Superman's powers. Then he can vanquish the foe. After all, dragons aren't real so plot doesn't matter.

At this point you know Jon and Dany aren't dying (not yet anyway).

Finally a good response.
Some were set up - I agree.

you sound miserable. i fed the troll and got bit.

Why do I have the feeling if they had killed him off you'd be the same guy starting a thread asking why did they bring him back if they were just going to kill him again?
Why is Tyrion still alive? He was saved by Bronn in the Vale, saved by Pod at Blackwater, saved by Jaime from being executed, saved by Jorah from drowning, saved by Drogon in the arena, etc. It's the selective outrage that always puzzles me.

Apparently a lot of Tigerdroppings posters just learned that phrase in the last week and are all excited to use it.
Even though the OP is a troll, this shite keeps coming up in regular threads. I'm not sure how people are overlooking the very large themes of magic and intervention of gods throughout this show. There is no "realistic" way to kill a dragon, there's no "realistic" way for gods to keep a hero alive to finish his quest.

Spoilers last episode
Much more often after they surpassed the books. I haven't read them, therefore don't know how closely they follow the books; but this season and the latter part of last season has multiple time lapse issues and seems to be simply giving the audience what they have been longing for.
The walkers clearly offscreen entering he water to tie chains around the dragon's neck in the ice last episode was my deal breaker. The show has a president that allows it to continue: the walkers don't travel through the water.
Does it kill them? Do they freeze? I don't know, but they never intentionally enter the water. Until they can get the dragon. But, if they could do that they could walk around the wall, they could have walked to the posse on the island in this episode, they could have walked out and possibly followed Jon and co at Hardhomme.
The whole series relies on the walkers not entering the water, now they all of a sudden donit.

Since most of your posts about it have been trying to troll fans rather than discuss the show, I doubt that.

Deus ex Machina
You can dislike the fiction, but Jon coming back to life is not "deus ex machina;" the mechanism/fiction was already explained in the storyline (the Brotherhood).
