I argue the hype is even greater now after the abomination of the last US Lizard film.

I do think some people are now moving into unreachable hype. At the end of the day, it is still a big monster flick.

I am optimistic but the hype is insane and like others said, this will probably be the last thread I post in and the last trailer I watch until the movie to try and avoid any additional spoilers to come.

I'm for this movie, i think it's actually gonna be worth a damn. Does anybody know anything about the other monsters or if there will be any? Or is it just Godzilla vs. man.

Agreed. The movie nerds on here come out in full force to hype up films they think will be great, but the average movie goer might not. Then they have a shite fit when someone doesn't agree with their opinion which is quite amusing. They need more anal in their life.

I just hope this movie is good enough to wash out the taste of the 98 shitfest

Where did I read that if you watch it backwards it is about a benevolent lizard who rebuilds a city then retreats into the sea?

We also learned a plot point that makes the film 400% more awesome, but Gareth swore us all to secrecy so we’re not going to spoil it here. But trust us, when this information comes out, you’re going to be impressed.

...baby Godzilla will have a cameo, blowing those little smoke rings.

Puff Daddy ft. Jimmy Page Godzilla 1998 promo

No Godzilla movie will ever top the hype of Godzilla 1998. Its was the U.S.'s first crack at Godzilla and got undue excitement because of it.

Theres been a lot of buzz recently about this movie, but I think its justified because part of it has to do with positive reviews from early screenings.

After the leaked footage and first teaser trailer, people were cautiously optimistic. With the reviews and latest trailer though, people have started to get super excited (me included) and I think its not undeserved.

Plus Gareth Edwards already has a good monster flick under his belt (Monsters, on Netflix)

Godzilla is terrible. There's nothing they could do to make it great

What made Godzilla 1998 so bad? I only saw it once, in the theater, and I recall being entertained. Didn't seem extraordinarily bad.

Wasn't a bad monster flick but it ripped of Jurassic Park and Zilla was not Godzilla

MechaGodzilla will be a Jeager piloted by Cranston.

And the final missile attack will be the Oxygen Destroyer.

I wasn't even in middle school yet when this came out. I liked it enough then, but I was a kid hoped up on Bubble Yum and Kool-aid Jammers.

For me the baby zillas twist that extended a mediocre movie with glaring plot holes another 30 minutes.

Even when I was 11 I knew that the helicopters had no business flying so low to where Zilla could eat them.

How does a creature so big that it makes tremors when it walks just disappear? Or how it could dig massive tunnels and hollow out Madison Square Garden without anyone noticing?

How can Nick Tatopola-fuamatu-ma'afala perform a pregnancy test on a friggin' lizard? Or just intuitively know the thing reproduces asexually?

Or that it goes all the way to New York from the Pacific Ocean? Long arse way to swim just to put set up a nest.

I could keep going.
