Disagree. I enjoyed it. It wasn't as good as the first one, but it did what it's supposed to do and that was to be an entertaining movie.

I watched it last night, and this is pretty much how I feel. It had big shoes to fill, and suffered from a little bit of a sloppy storyline and a little bit of going overboard at times, but I still enjoyed it despite its flaws.

And I’m not really buying that. It seems forced

I thought it was slightly above average. Like a 6 or 6.5. I won't watch it again.

Thought it was substantially worse than the original

I never saw the first but i definitely will now after seeing the cast in that one. I really like glass onion it was a fun movie.

Daniel Craig for an Englishman does really good over exaggerated southern accents. This one was totally different from what he did in logan lucky but it was excellent again.

And it served a purpose. It was an easy and convenient way to innocuously introduce an important clue.

Wait - what clue was that? I missed it

Fun movie. Can’t wait for the third.

Movie was just ok. Not as good as the first. Not rewatchable.

Janelle Monáe was annoying and unbelievable. At minimum they should’ve written her character as something else. An Alabama elementary school teacher doesn’t become a master spy overnight.

It had its moments, but the ending was terrible.

Craig was solid.

The first two thirds were awesome, but the ending was a bit off the rails.

I still like it overall as I’m as sucker for almost any whodunnit!

SPOILER

This one lost me at the twin sister. Too convenient. And how in the hell did everyone not remember she had a twin sister? Braun would have known the victim well enough to know that. He would have made a “you’re not welcome here” scene rather quickly to get her right off of the island.

They portray Norton’s character as stupid, but he’s really not. His plan wasn’t that bad.

Boring “white man always steals the
POC’s creative idea trope” is tired. The idea that white men stole patentable ideas from POCs is demonstrably false throughout American history.

Final scene was a rehash of the throne room scene in TLJ.

Agree with poster who said that this movie loves to smell its own farts. It thinks it’s a lot smarter than it really is.

I’ve come to the conclusion that RJ has to be the laziest, most arrogant person in Hollywood. He thinks he can do big budget Star Wars better than George Lucas and JJ Abrams so much that he can throw out the previous plot and rules of the universe and make up his own. Now, he thinks he can do this genre better than Agatha Christie (read any of his press for this one). He’s reveling in the press calling him the new AC.

He's not actually getting compared to Agatha Christie is he? These movies aren't even up to Encyclopedia Brown standards, especially this sequel.

Covid was in the movie for roughly 2 minutes and I felt like it was more to set the time period than say any type of statement about the pandemic

Exactly. The covid shite is integral to Beniot's mindset of sheer boredom in his opening scene.

Hell, if anything they make fun of the pandemic by having Kate Hudson wear a mesh mask and have Ethan Hawke in a cameo giving some sort of magic potion that makes them all "ok".

No. Other than the fact its been pointed out that Daniel Craig's character is a caricature of Christie's Detective Hercule Poirot character.

Watched it last night and I loved the first one but this one was about a 6/10 for me. The first one had more charm and you really got attached to all the characters but this one they just throw the characters out there so you don’t have feelings for them like the first one

Can someone tell me what Rian Johnson did or said to get all this hate? I honestly have no idea and I am too lazy to Google it.

Putting it this way. Did RJ accidentally write himself into the script as Miles Bron?

Ha! I thought that, too.

I watched this last night and thought it was enjoyable, but not quite as good as the original.

I thought it actually started a little slowly, then picked up and was very entertaining, but for me the ending was a little flat. The characters (beside Blanc) were not quite as engaging as in the first.

Overall it was fun. The setting was a nice change from the first one and I like Blanc plus the general vibe. Will definitely watch future installments.

After the first mona lisa scene, I predicted this whole murder mystery would boil down to an art heist. I was half-right.

Craig's accent bounces from Louisiana to Alabama to Charleston, depending on the scene. I wonder if this is intentional campiness or just bad.

Overall it was a fun movie.

I never saw the first one, I didn't realize this was a sequel. I'll have to check it out. What's the first one called?
