First time I've watched, wasn't going to rent it. It is truly as bad as the MTV board said. Just awful. I have chuckled once the entire movie. Going to finish it, but holy shite I'm struggling

I need to give it a watch. I wasn't thrilled with the stunt casting but I have no problem with female comedians. I think I can give it a somewhat unbiased viewing.

Well, almost unbiased. My opinion on Leslie Jones isn't going to miraculously change.

I though so too. It's a bad movie regardless of sex

Apparently you're racist if you say Leslie Jones was bad

Leslie Jones was not even close to the worst of the 4. Wiig and McCarthy were both terrible. I was disappointed in them as they have been somewhat funny in other movies.

Downvote me to oblivion, but I thought it was pretty funny. Definitely more slapstick and toilet humor than the original but that's ok with me. Kate McKinnon and Hemsworth were both great. Not my favorite movie but far from the worst. More entertaining than several others in 2016.

Do yourself a favor and rewatch the original, and pray that Gozer the Gozerian forgives you . But he won't

It certainly wasn't good but it wasn't a total disaster. I saw it drunk and it was ok.

I downvoted the original post because I thought that the OP was talking bad about the old Ghostbusters then as I scrolled down I realized that he was referring to the new one.

Thanks for ruining my day by reminding me that there was a remake. I thought that I had successfully wiped it from my memory.

Wiig played the straight man character, the more grounded one.

I'm about halfway.

Haven't smiled let alone laughed.

So not only do we get the all women Ghostbusters but every male is either a dick, insane or stupid.

I've seen plenty of people say Hemsworth was great but playing over the top stupid and clueless isn't working for me. He is so dumb he doesn't know to answer a phone?

Shockingly, I think I like Leslie Jones the most at this point but she has the 2nd half to ruin that lead.

Ok, I didn't think the first half was good but it wasn't horrific.

The horrible men motif continued into the second half. Evil mayor. Stupid homeland security guys. Annoyingly angry nerd guy.

Literally not one normal male role. Only mention gender because they made such an effort to make literally every male a caricature. That includes Murray who wasn't remotely as good playing the douche nozzle as William Atherton. Akroyd was almost normal except he was a dick cab driver.

But as I said first half not embarrassingly bad.

Then we get to the finale. Embarrassingly bad. As Hemsworth is dancing and making all the cops dance, do you think he has a clue how terrible this scene is? Flashbacks to Avatar. Throughout the movie the weapons basically hold the ghosts and in the finale, they cause them to blow up.

Just a weak movie. I did laugh at the v-neck joke. I think that was it.

It was bad. Comedy is certainly subjective but I don't get how folks liked this. I can see possibly not hating it but I can't see anyone really liking this trash.

Hemsworth's character, in a movie with ghosts, managed to be the least believable aspect of it. A person like would have no chance at going through day to day life. So over the top stupid.

The only line I thought was funny was mayor's reaction to being compared to the mayor from Jaws.

Other than that, it was failed joke after failed joke.

2nd worst movie I saw in theaters last year. Somehow Office Christmas party was worse.
