Game of Thrones Spinoff?

The massive HBO fantasy franchise - the premium cabler's most watched show ever - is set for two more shortened seasons before concluding the stories of Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, and the others warring for power and freedom throughout the Seven Kingdoms. But when Game of Thrones ends, there's still more story to tell within the world of Westeros, according to HBO programming president Casey Bloys.
"There are so many properties and areas to go to," Bloys told The Hollywood Reporter this week at the Westworld premiere in Hollywood. "For us, it's about finding the right take with the right writer."
As it stands, however, Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss will not be those writers. Both Benioff and Weiss made their stance clear at the Emmys this month, when THR asked if they would be interested in running the next inevitable stage of the Game of Thrones franchise.
"You might want to ask George [R.R. Martin] about that. It's a great world George created and a very rich world," said Benoiff. "I'm sure there will be other series set in Westeros, but for us this is it."

Yeah, a Robert's Rebellion miniseries would be the way to go. I think they can cover it in 12 episodes.

Ive mentioned before I think it would be neat if they had a season of like 10 episodes where each episode is spent on a different major event in the GoT lore.
But if they are gonna go full on spinoff then yes please go right ahead

The problem I have with prequels is you know the outcome, obviously... But prequels never seen to have the juice an original story does... Even great ones like BettEr Call Saul can never be as good as the original simply because you're not on a rode with a unknown outcome.
My suggestion would be to go EAST with the story... Wayyy east... into the unknown shadow lands full-on witches, sorcery, dragon eggs, and mysticism.
It's a win-win... You still hold onto the Game of Thrones world and all the post show happenings, but from a different view and from a previously unexplored, unknown world... There simply are no limitations and predictability a prequel would have.
The only other worth while option I can think of would be to go SO far back I time, it has almost nothing to do with Game of Thrones... Like what The Silmarillion did.

I'd bet my left nut that within 5 years of the end of GoT there will be a prequal on Roberts Rebellion

Dunk & Egg, Robert's Rebellion, Dance with Dragons, The First Long Night, & Aegon's Conquest would all be interesting stories to cover.
