I remember something like the HS saying that she wasn't guilty (at least not of treason) since Robert was dead (or at least that's alls he confessed to). Was sleeping with the Kettleback's illegal?

I think she confessed to having sex with them while Robert was still alive.

Or maybe not. Apparently it's illegal in Westeros for a widow to have sex until she's married again. Fornication = walk of shame, whereas the queen fooling around on the king is treason and would be punishable by death.
