Theon is supposed to be about 4 years older than Robb and Jon. I can't imagine Jon or Robb being considered clever or big for their age, though.

which makes no sense since LF was certainly not big for his age.

Yeah - I'm taking it all back - I thought there were 2 different boys being discussed with those characteristics. Large boy and also a clever boy is not LF - I agree.

Crackpot alert: What if large/clever boy is Hodor? The flashback is to what made him "not so clever"?

It's the same boy. The big one is also clever.

Could it be a flashback of Jon and Robb?

Do either of the actors that play/played Jon/Robb have green/blue eyes?

And Northern accent would be "not" LF as well.

So what if the 12 year old is Robb, and the 7 year old is Bran? Does Bran have green eyes?

I still have no clue as to who the big, clever kid would be though. Who ever it is they appear to only appear once, while the other two are "open-ended".

I think it's either: Theon, Robb, and Jon or more likely Robert, Ned, and Brandon. I can't imagine Bran being in there it would only be about 2 years before the start of the show.

Dany and Jon Snow are good actors but not great. Emilia Clarke loses a lot of points with me because she has become so anti nudity. I will admit part of that is loving to see the hotness but more importantly that is who Dany is. She has no qualms about showing her body and it is part of her power and strength. She is super hot and will show off her body whenever she wants and screw whomever she wants because she is the Queen dammit and frick you. Clarke just has refused to do that since Season 1 and the character has suffered as she is constantly trying to hide her boobs (that everyone has already seen)

You spent half of your long-winded post complaining that an actress doesn't show the goods anymore? I just...I don't know.

Theon, Robb, and Jon

That wouldn't line up really, since Kit Harington appears to have brown eyes. Also Jon and Robb are at most 1 year apart, right? And Theon is the oldest. And I don't know if any of them would be described as "big" for their age.

or more likely Robert, Ned, and Brandon

This is far more likely, but I still find it weird that they would use "clever" as a description for Robert.

I just said Bran, because the 12 and 7 year olds appear to be sparing with each other, and their eye colors and age differences kind of match up. I just figured the big/clever kid would be some unknown character that might end up getting into trouble with them or something.

I agree - maybe an attempt at deception on their part - the producers are likely aware how fans, particularly book readers, tear down every little snippet of information, particularly as they move ahead of the timeline Martin has published to date.

I'm not discounting it - with the relative importance of the Stark family, both in the books and in the television series, sheer inertia would have us looking at this possibility for discriminators. "Northern accent" is a hint and a half for our cluess a$$es.

A large boy, with an actor who is 10-12 but playing 7 or 8. He’s described as “a clever boy” who seems too large for his age. He’s big and tall but not fat. “Characterful squat features” are a plus for this part. it’s specified that this is a one-time appearance.

12 year old boy, with brown hair and blue eyes. He needs to use a Northern accent. He has scenes where he has to spar with a wooden sword.
The length of the role isn’t specified.

7 year old boy with dark brown hair, a narrow face and green eyes. He also has a Northern accent. He also spars with the wooden sword, so it’s safe to assume it’s the same scene. This role is similarly open-ended, the description only stating that the character is being ‘introduced.’

So I am the only one thinking this is straight Knight of the Laughing Tree? Brandon, Ned, and Howland would be my guess. Could be a lead up to the reveal of Jon's parentage. Might just be wishful thinking on my part.

The problem with that is their ages. 7 & 12 years old seem too young for that story.

they would've been in their late teens at that time.

Yeah I didn't read the large boy part very well. Thought I saw 17 making Lyanna around 15-16, but that can't be the case. Going to have to rethink this one.

That's what I immediately thought, but were they friends with Howland when they were young?

a 12 year old (1 time appearance)
a 7-8 year old (length not specified)
a 7 year old (character being introduced)

Brandon, ned, benjen

Brandon, ned, howland

Robert, ned, howland

theon, rob, jon

hodor, ned, Brandon

?

Clever Boy could be said in jest and this could be Hodor. Not sure who that makes the others though. Would think Brandon and Ned and could just be Bran's first vision.

OK,this is not an intricate observation on a plot point.

But damn, that one Septa that was blocking Cersei's retreat from the High Sparrow could give Brienne a run for her money in size/imposing presence. Or at least she could play tight end for most DI football teams.

I was a little disappointed, actually. The book says something like "but Cersei was a lionness of the Rock" and managed to knock over/get through several septas before she was subdued. I was hoping to see that.
