Just rewatched Fury. One of the best WW2 movies out there.

The whole sequence in the town with the two women was excellent. When Coon-arse asks Norman if he feels it. "Do you feel it? This is war." Very well written.

Ah No

It is like I tell everyone about Gone with the Wind, nice Civil war set with the 1920's US type personalities.

Fury is WWII set with 2010's with writing and personalities of today. Go read what many vets said about WWII, many would not say 4 letter words for fear of dying just having said one. Read what Major Winters said, remember he and the vets were all about to walk off the set of Band of Brothers because of all the bad language. Tom took near all the bad language out.

It has some good combat scenes, but also a very bad fight in the movie at the end. Germans are not that dumb and one panzerfaust hit would have ended the Sherman in no time. A panzerfaust has good range for a 1 man weapon and is easy to use and easy to hit a target that is not moving.

I liked the attack scene and the Tiger fight other than that the movie is very weak at best.

Battleground is a classic war movie with many vets in the movie, and far better writing and battle scene set ups.

Language was far from puritan in WW II "frick" was used all the time aka SNAFU, or the Marine speciality the "Clusterfrick" this straight from many veterans.

The tank battles are as fearful as I've seen any movie portray, but the pace and ending are straight Hollerwood.

To each there own, but I wouldn't call it a weak film. It is entertaining and well written. Fury is a pulp fiction novel set in WWII, and it is good at being just that.

And judging a historical fiction based on it being less than 100% historically accurate is humorously ironic.

It is basically Saving Private Ryan with a tank. But I absolutely loved it.

I liked it. tlThe teamwork it took to drive, defend and attack with that tank was great to observe. I liked the characters.

Concept was simple, but had a powerful message.

I liked it. Watched it twice over the Thanksgiving holidays. The thing that struck me about it was that this was basically the second time Brad Pitt played the part of "Lieutenant Aldo "The Apache" Raine" as he did in Inglorious Bastards. Even though he was a sergeant in this one.

A friend of mine was a Tank Commander in Iraq. He said Fury was one of the most accurate movies he's ever seen about how life inside a tank was and the damage that the tanks do when they shoot something.

No.

It was ridiculous, and sucked.
