Watched this last night on Netflix. Pretty intense WWII movie I had never heard of. A little far fetched, but Really good. Man, war really sucks.

Very rewatchable, too. Always find myself stopping on it for stretches.

For some reason they cut out the backstory of Pitts character...he was responsible for the death of his girlfriend and brother before the war and thought he was the one who should've died.Pretty much had a death wish and explains his suicidal behavior.

The tank battle scene is consistently cited as one of the most realistic ww2 depictions of combat ever. The dash by the Sherman’s to get to the flank of the Tiger where the armor is weaker before it can bring its gun to bear is well done.

A LITTLE???

It’s the worst/most-ridiculous war movie of all time (if taken seriously).

I consider it an absurd comedy and approve of it as such.

Some of the older ones are far worse, The Green Berets and The Battle of the Bulge come to mind. Enemy at the Gate and Peral Harbor are examples of more modern horribly inaccurate movies.

Fury isn't nearly that bad given every war movie takes dramatic license. Anyone that has been in combat can tear apart most any war movie especially in their era if they choose to. Platoon is one that seems to have nearly universal applause by the soldiers that were actually there, at least IME.

The dash of the Sherman’s would never have happened in real life, as they had the 76mm Firefly gun on Fury which could take on Tiger armor even at range. Also, charging as a close group was stupid. Spread out to make it harder for the Tiger to choose targets.

The behavior of the Tiger is also retarded, in no universe do they have to charge a line of 3 Sherman’s when they were dug in with cover. Also in real life, they’d shoot the lead tank in a column then the last, to box them in. But Fury couldn’t be killed there or the credits roll. Barring that, they’d fall back and keep range even with smoke in their face they had the advantage.

I’ve only ever read that scene as being far-fetched, not realistic. Their tactics in this scene were straight arse

A tank veteran on Fury: 'Very realistic, but it can't show the full horror of war

Tanks didn't, and don't, fight at point blank range with their main guns.

If you read that whole article, the veteran never speaks to what I’m describing. He even calls the last fight far fetched.

He’s referencing the realistic portrayal of a tank crew, which fury did good. But that charging of a Tiger scene is ludicrous

Only one of the tanks had the firefly, the Fury. The rest were A2s.
