Hot Fuzz is a great movie, but I think it tends to be more witty than laugh out loud funny. It gets more chuckles than belly laughs from me.

I really disagree. When I watched Hot Fuzz for the first time, I thought the first 2/3rds were amusing and gave me mere chuckles, but when the 3rd Act came in and you find out about the reason for the murders, I really don't think I stopped laughing. Growing up around Oxford, I really could see some of the locals taking up murder to get "Town of the Year" for decades on end. And there's a joke every 3 seconds in the action sequences referencing other action movies. It's a movie that only gets funnier every time I watch it (although it's kinda hard to beat the laughs when I first found out the who and why of the murders).

Two of my favorites are Ghostbusters and The Hangover. The first hangover movie was funny, wish they had stopped at one.

I probably laughed harder at Step Brothers than any other movie when I saw it in high school.

Airplane.
Young Frankenstien

Princess Bride (though not solely a comedy)

But if you really want the funniest video entertainment of all time and if it is available on Amzaon, the only choice is:

Fawlty Towers. (the funniest thing I've ever watched IMHO)

Damn, I haven't seen this in years. Rented it as a kid and probably watched it 6 times before returning it. Hilarious for any age.
