I've always said this. This movie is two films in one, like Gone With the Wind, Titanic and Pearl Harbor. For some reason, I tend to like movies like that.

I've always loved both parts equally. I don't get the hate for the second act.

First half and it's not even close. Second half was complete dogshit while the first half was absolutely riveting and spellbinding. Actually I have yet to watch a movie about Vietnam that I really enjoyed watching.

First half is much better. It's the opposite of Paths of Glory where the war scenes are first, though that whole movie is great.

With out the second half, there would be no 5 dolla sucky sucky...
