I had to resist the urge to buy this on digital before my blu ray came in the mail. I was able to resist. I am glad I did as the blu ray quality is fantastic.
As a side note, can they please standardize the color of blu ray packaging. I hate how this film and Ant Man are a different color than all my other blu rays

I got mine at target. I think it was the special edition even though it was only 21 dollars. Came with blue ray, dvd and special features disk and code for digital download. Specials include johnwilliams symphony, deleted scenes, and featuretes

Picked up the steel book edition at best buy watched the document arty and a couple if the bonus features so far...honestly they could have done way more with the bonus content.

Why would they when they know that we'll buy all 8 editions that they eventually release.

Got it today. I really should get some studying done tonight but I may watch it tonight anyway. If I do I'm worried I'll end up watching all the deleted scenes too
I had the same decision. I'm just going to study tomorrow.

You beat me to it. Pretty good job. I miss the original guy's voice..
OML, redlettermedia makes an appearance in this one.

What is covered in the 20 minutes of exclusive content? It is sad that this is the first Star Wars film with no commentary. I get holding things back for future releases but they could have put a little more effort.

Really like the special features but deleted scenes were disappointing.

Plinkett's apparently got a TFA review in the works (there's a trailer called " The Plinkett Awakens")

THE BEST BUY BONUS DISC IS A TRAP.
ALL RELEASES EVERYWHERE ARE THREE DISCS: BLU-RAY FILM, BLU-RAY BONUS FEATURES, AND DVD FILM. THERE IS ALSO A DMA INSERT TO REDEEM FOR THE DIGITAL COPY AND SOME PREMIUM OFFERS.
Regular version comes in a black case with a slipcover. The discs and DMA insert are the same as above.
Wal-mart's version comes in a custom slipcover featuring BB-8. Lift BB-8 to reveal Finn, Rey, and Poe. The discs and DMA insert are the same as above but a premium collectible trading disc is included inside.
Best Buy's version comes in a custom Steelbook featuring Ren and Phasma with internal art showcasing the Falcon over Jakku. The discs and DMA insert are the same as above. No additional content is included.
Target's version comes in a custom cardboard case with the exact same discs as above. The DMA insert is different as it unlocks a different digital copy with additional bonus features.
Regardless of where you buy it, you will get three discs. What is on the Blu-ray Bonus Features disc? Read the review or check the first post to see a complete rundown. It is a matter of what you prefer: regular, collectable item, Steelbook, or additional features.

Bro you don't even understand.
It took me about 20 minutes in the store just to find a slipcover that was acceptable to me.
It seemed like every single one had some sort of minor flaw that I couldn't live with. I kept pulling different ones out and holding them up to the light at different angles to find the perfect one. And even when I found a slipcover that I could live with, I'd take it off to inspect the case and find something wrong with that.
At one point I think some of the employees started looking at me.
...it was a nightmare.

Those slipcovers go straight into the trash now.
There is nothing collectible about home video anymore.

So can we talk about the actual movie now? I'm ready. This was my first time seeing it. I was unable to get to the theater to catch it.
I was amazed at this movie. It brought Star Wars back home for me. My only gripe with this movie is that it lacked "Luke". But honestly, it left me desperately wanting to see the next movie so I think it accomplished everything that it wanted. The characters weren't over the top.
Spoilers (I have no idea why I need to say this far after theatrical release but I guess I do):
I didn't know Han Solo dies. This bums me out greatly but I understand it if Harrison Ford is too old or doesn't want to do them anymore. I don't know that either of these are the case but I'm just assuming. Chewy hasn't aged a bit which is amazing.

When I first saw it, I kept waiting Luke to say something right before the end credits. I watched it for the 3rd time last night, and still think it'd be badass if Luke had said "I've been waiting for you, Rey" at the end.

I know that Harrison Ford wanted Han killed off in ROTJ, so I guess its possible he told them he only wanted to do one. I kinda figured going in that one of the old characters would bite the dust though.
