I have very vague memories of watching this as a child. I just remembered the boy sitting in a chair in the space ship. I watched it for the first time since the 80s and completely forgot the subplot in the beginning about his missing for 10 years and not aging. I thought the entire film took place on the ship. It was still a very enjoyable movie although the main character is a whiny loser.

I don't understand Sarah Jessica Parker. One minute she looks sexy the next minute she looks like something your just ran over

I did too and couldn't remember the name until it finally came to me the other day. I mean I had been trying to remember the title of this movie for years

Need to watch it again, especially after reading this.

The spaceship that was in the movie is on display at Disneyworld. Don't remember what theme park it is but it is on a tour.
