Some things get explained, others are just introduced and never explained or answered. That was probably the only thing I really disliked about the show.

Sawyer still sucks. The whole story about his background and the letter doesnt make me feel any differently since he became a confidence man himself

You still don't have much context about Sawyer as you think you do. I still hated him at the point you are at too, but just wait a few more episodes for another flashback of his.

Exactly my point. I have yet to see them explain anything other than backstories

Don't really worry about getting answers. And in case you are worried, yes the Polar Bears are explained.

Season 1 Episode 20

Jesus Christ does anyone on this island have a normal background story? It's like the writers got together and said "Hey, whats the most insane and messed up things you can think of?" And we do they start killin off all the randos left over from the crash. And I am assuming Charlie finds that heroin stash somehow

that's kind of the point. everyone is flawed, but they don't know how fricked up each of their island mates are

I understand that part, but you mean to tell me there isnt one Joe Schmoe on the island? Or are they the randos that get killed later?

not really. I don't want to say anything more to spoil stuff for you, but I'll say there's a reason why they're all fricked up, and it's not just because it makes for more interesting TV.

Just keep watching. Randoms get some screen time.

And Sawyer is almost everyone's favorite by the end of the show so...hang in there.

Just enjoy the ride. Answers will come but they will lead to more questions.

If I could blank my mind for 1 show so I could watch it again with a clean slate, this would be it.

You will love Sawyer by the end. Heck there are far worse people you will like by the end.

The damn score alone makes the show worth watching. Easily one of the best overall scores if not the best overall score in Tv history.

Very true. One of the best aspects of the show is how it makes you dramatically change your opinions of lots of key characters over time. Sometimes multiple times. Many have issues with how the island mysteries are handled, but the character background and development are a joy to watch throughout the series.

Only on season 1 episode 14, but do they ever explain the mysterious way these guy and gals keep perfect facial hair and hairstyles?

Or one might ask why Hurley doesn't lose weight on an island with no food and when he is always walking.

That one is actually explained.

I watched the whole series in about 2 weeks over the summer. Would come home from work and start watching, next thing i know its 3 a.m.

I loved the show but the last few seasons do get a little confusing.

Are you serious? I mean I'm not even sure that's possible.
