Maybe I didn't explain myself well. As you mentioned, there is still quite a bit remaining to be explored and explained. However, the primary arcs (atleast as they're related to this trilogy) for the major ~10 characters were completed. Yes they absolutely could and likely will have additional books, but the major conflicts/villains/themes/etc were largely wrapped up at the end.

That's all I meant. I've read some books where at the end it's almost like nothing was even mildly completed. There are still glaring questions with the villains or major plot lines addressed in the series. It's a very delicate line, but he did such an awesome job giving me enough resolution for it to feel like I already had a good experience.

He didn't leave me with the blue balls and try to use that as a reason to get me to come back. If he puts out a follow-up series I'll read it because the first romp was good, not because I'm still waiting to get off. Sorry for the sexual reference, but it's the only thing that made sense in my perverted mind haha.

Gene Wolfe. I always frick that name up. Neil Gaiman had a blurb on Wolfe's book and it got me to read it. Said it was the best sf novel of the last century.

It's pretty great.
