Who killed the beautiful blonde? Without a doubt, I think it was Lee or Gillis. I am leaning more towards Lee. Two different males DNA was found. That eliminates the two afore mentioned. I still feel deep down it was Lee.

Gillis (reading a book about him now) was proud of his murders and admitted to them to investigators in great detail. Really doubt he killed Eugenie then kept it to himself after he was arrested.

Plus she didn't fit his victim profile at all. Other than his first two impulse kills, he went after hookers.

I've always thought it was DTL but when I was watching killing fields they made it sound like it wasn't him during the phone call about the DNA. I dunno maybe I misheard

They said that DNA on the panties didn't match Derrick Todd Lee, but instead was from more than one different male.

That's no guarantee that he didn't kill her, or that the DNA matches are the killer/killers.

New show on discovery that is reopening the case of Eugenie Boisfontaine.

Killing Fields

quote:

KILLING FIELDS will go inside a case that went cold nearly two decades ago in the small community of Iberville Parish, Louisiana, located just 15 miles from the state capitol, Baton Rouge. In June 1997, Louisiana State University graduate student Eugenie Boisfontaine was last seen near LSU's lakes. Two months later, her body was found nearby in a watery ditch with evidence of blunt force trauma to her head.

But who did it and why?

The story is interesting but the show Killing Fields is horrible. I feel like I'm watching a show written by the Duck Dynasty guys. It's just way too dramatic for what it is, especially the music.

It's just more fodder for the rest of the country to poke fun at Louisiana.

I'm gonna say she was gang raped and murdered. Probably not by either serial killer.

I thought that was the general consensus. The TV show is just being dramatic. It also sounds like that detective and possibly the entire department was a huge frick up.

I'm not sure a show about a murder can be too dramatic. Duck Dynasty is funny. But this is serious business. It's pretty interesting to watch as it unfolds.

Turning every swinging dick named Robert into a suspect.

Turning every swinging dick that ever walked into Alligator Bar into a suspect, even though it is extremely unlikely that Alligator Bar is of any relevance whatsoever. She was dumped there because it was close, yet remote and secluded, not because the perp enjoyed Miller Lite.

The fat friend that randomly comes up with key details 18 years after the fact.

The friend's daughter, who was a child at the time, providing relevant information in clearly scripted interviews.

Random shots of North Baton Rouge.

Random shots of Rowdy Rodie driving through cane fields which are nowhere near Stanford Avenue or St. Gabriel.

The terrible interrogations that are clearly going nowhere until Juiceboy Wondercop gets angry "DID YOU KILL HER!?!?"

The repetitive mentioning of Rodie's totally irrelevant sexual/marital escapades.

Also, how about glossing over the fact that Rodie cleared this guy 18 years ago on a short phone call, but now he is their best suspect? Oh, because they want to make him out to be some dogged, high quality detective when all signs point in the opposite direction.

ETA - Oh, and the "owner" of Alligator Bar being in there randomly sweeping up when Frick and Frack show up to all but accuse him of murdering her.

The DNA they have that was on her underwear is partial DNA. Which is completely useless in court.
