Hard to disagree with that. At the same time, most shows are formulaic, that's why we watch them.
I was tired of Entourage somewhere around Season 3, but it isn't a terrible show.

Damn dude, loosen up. You really seem like the guy to hang out with at the party. Do you sip your Earl Grey with your pinky out or something?
The show is just a "wish fulfillment," fun/escapist show to watch. What guy wouldn't want to live like they do for at least some period of their lives? Half the reason I like the show is because things do usually end up well. Not every show has to end like an Oz episode.

True enough but most shows grow and expand their characters, they take some wins and losses, etc. etc.
Entourage doesn't seem to be able hand a loss to any of its characters without coming back in two episodes and giving them (insert awesome thing here).

It is far from the worst TV show on right now, but it isn't a good TV show either.
I think part of my dislike of it comes from running into people who think its the greatest TV show EVER because the main character is cool and gets into a threesome because of that. THAT DOES NOT MAKE IT A GOOD SHOW.

You know what you're getting with Entourage every week: 30 min of mindless fun. It's a guilty pleasure for those who watch it and if you have to dissect everything about the show then it's probably not something that's for you.
Personally I enjoy it and can't wait for it to start up again.

it's 20 min once a week, what's to hate? laughing at Ari, Drama, Busey and a couple skin shots of hot chicks is enough for me
Not every show has to challenge the notion of the human condition, sometimes funny is just funny and leave it at that

I've never liked Entourage. Every episode seems the same and I don't think Pivens is funny. He's the same character he was in PCU
