I didn't think it was bad but they hauled arse through the first 2/3 of the movie. It was like they were moving in fast forward, with nothing really sticking.

ive read the book probably 5 times, and honestly these people bitching are just being ridiculous or they are stupid. what the frick did they think was gonna happen when it was made into a movie? obviously stuff gets left out and it gets made movie friendly. i thought it was fine but i suppose im just being reasonable

so for those who have read the other books, are they worth reading?

i've read Ender's Game, but not any of the others.

The book after Ender's Game, Speaker for the Dead, was my favorite of the series. I lost interest with Children of the Mind.

I've only read the first 3. Ender's Game, Ender's Shadow, and Shadow of the Hegemon. They were all excellent.

There are three books in between those two.

Really enjoyed this one too. Completely different tone but excellent none the less.

I probably need to watch the movie one more time.

I didn't think it was terrible but it could have been better.

It was expected that they would tone down the violence. I was actually surprised they showed as much as they did. I thought it would be even more toned down.

Everything was a bit too rushed but you need to move things along. How enjoyable would the movie be if they had 10 matches?

There is a reason it took 20 years to make this one into a movie. It simply doesn't translate to the big screen. Too much internal stuff going on.

I can understand book readers not liking it. I'm just not sure what I think yet.

I like the sequels, but they are so different from the original, I doubt they will ever come close to the screen.

In the order they were written in, or in chronological order?

The 3 books I read are in the same time frame.

Noboby took the bait on this subtle brag?

I enjoyed the movie a lot, but knew nothing about the plot before watching it. I heard a lot about how people considered it almost impossible to translate to film but I didn't know what that meant since I wanted to avoid spoilers, so I was very intrigued.

I have no idea what order they were written in, but Game and Shadow are obviously at the exact same time, save the pre-Battle School maybe.

Shadow of the Hegemon is a totally different story, but still approximately the same time.

Can someone post the chronological order for these books? Especially for the ender arc and not the bean arc

10-4. My apologies. I didn't know he went back and wrote more books for the same time span.

No big deal. I just said the first 3 books because they came in a set together when I bought them back in college.

i've read Ender's Game, but not any of the others.

I've read all of both series. I liked all the Ender books(some more than others). I also liked Shadow, but halfway through the Bean series, it started to feel mailed in. Or maybe I was just burnt out on the books by then.
