Went in not knowing much about the plot except it was a lot like groundhog day but in a military genre.
It actually turned out to be a pretty good popcorn flick with a good bit of comedy. Not awesome by any means but it was entertaining.

I'm pretty damn shocked it's getting rated so high right now. It doesn't look like a good movie.

The previews for the last 3 or so Tom Cruise movies have not hyped me up but they were entertaining movies. Seems to be his MO, entertaining but unspectacular movies.

Think it officially comes out Thursday or Friday. There was a free preview screening here. The CW puts it on so you have to listen to them talk about the shows on the CW for about 10 minutes but then you watch the movie for free. You just have to go to a place to pick up your free admission tickets.

FWIW I read the book and the plot was very straight forward leading up to one twist at the end.
The trailers look like the movie encompasses more ground than the book but the same premise, I'm looking forward to it.

I enjoyed this film, definitely had a good bit of comedy which was actually humorous. Solid film.

Better or worse than Oblivion? Seems like a similar type of movie (futuristic, not what it seems, plot twist at the end).

Cruise gets a lot of hate but he rarely puts out a bad movie. Easily the top movie star over the last 30 years as a leading actor
