Not 100% accurate but fascinating insight to the manor of those times.
Just started the 4th season to catch up. So far the 1st is the best but I'm partial to pre-war period.

We have a thread on the current season going, but I only started watching this year. I watched all 3 seasons on DVD in August in a week and they were great! Well worth the purchase and watching them. This season has started out a bit slow, though last night's episode was good. I recommend it, but you really have to watch the first 3 seasons to get it.

I really liked the first season a lot. But the show got pretty boring and over the top rather quickly. Stopped watching after season 2, haven't missed it

I've started and stopped about 3 times. Get all the way through the first season then hit the brakes mid second season.
I actually started a rewatch last weekend and I am into season 3 so I finally broke the season 2 barrier..
Maggie Smith cracks me up. Her delivery is always perfect.
I did not like Shirley MaClaine. Seemed like they just wrote her to be about as aggravating as possible.

It a show my wife and I can watch together and enjoy. It's good, not great but I do love the period soap opera style.
