About through with the first season of x-files and I'm thinking about just rewatching fringe because Scully annoys me so much. So does she ever at least believe in the supernatural a little bit?

But with that said, oh yeah...she kind of doesn't have a choice by season 3, maybe even season 2. But yeah, it get pretty traumatic for her.

She doesn't really believe then. It isn't until really late in the series where she sort of believes.

That is why this can be a frustrating show to marathon. She gets a bit tiresome the 37th time she sees something alien / monster of the week and she still tells Mulder their is a scientific explanation.

Also gets a bit old the 42nd time all of the evidence is stolen.

She believes because she was also abducted.

I also don't like the role reversal where now Skully is the believer and Mulder the skeptic.

I loved the lizard man episode, they always have put one of those in there.

Why so serious?

Really?

That's some female Ghostbusters level contrivance right there.

Exacty. No way she doesn't believe after being abducted TWICE by the same shape shifting alien/demon guy. She believes, but probably suppresses that shite to suppress her PTSD from her 7+ kidnappings in the show

you must not have watched many of the original episodes. CC was known to throw in the occasional irreverent (even silly) episode. A little frivolity to give fans some relief, if you will.

I enjoyed the lizard man episode just for this reason. thought it was the right amount of goofy for a 6 episode season (so far).

They have their silly episodes every once in awhile. I loved it. Laughed out loud at several points. And got a great scene with SCcully's cleavage.

The "monster of the week" and silly episodes are better than the episodes dedicated to the main story arc of the show, especially after the first few seasons.
