Shows? I like lots of stuff. Here are some off the top of my head that I really like (some present, some past, but I will try to stay semi-recent):

Psych
The Office (US version, though I have the British one and will watch soon)
Happy Endings
Scrubs
The League (though it's far past its prime)
Rules of Engagement
Last Man Standing
Last Man on Earth
Community
Arrested Development
Modern Family
Workaholics
Silicon Valley
South Park

Ok, so it's partially generational. You're probably -28 years old? The oldest show you listed was Friends.

Cool game, you're wrong on his age, but do me now.

I like:
The Goldbergs
The Office
Big Bang Theory
Two and a Half Men
Castle
Agents of Shield
Family Guy
Seinfeld
Friends
Home Improvement
Family Matters
Saved by the Bell
Fresh Prince
Gilligan's Island (favorite)
Brady Bunch
Different Strokes

I don't like The Simpsons, Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, or whatever that zombie show on AMC is that I can't remember the name of.

Nope. People have different tastes which often reflects their background/experiences. Beyond that are particular genres that appeal to some viewers and not at all to others. I enjoy fantasy/epic adventure type movies and TV like Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, Inception, LOST, Interstellar, etc. Whereas a comedy has to be a real hoot for me to get into it aka Married With Children. I'm much less interested in gangster/drug culture even classics like The Godfather series, the Sopranos, etc. I do love classic war movies especially Greek/Roman classics like Troy, Rome, Gladiator, Spartacus, etc. I'm old, raised in the 50's and 60's which probably explains a lot.

Agreed. If you look at Peggy's arc and even Joan's to a degree it's a decent representation of women breaking through into the male dominant workplace. Or the change of ideals among women (and perception) just by looking at the difference in Betty Draper and her daughter Sally.

Yep, Mad Men is very appealing to my wife and me probably because we are old and can identify with the era depicted. It's one of the few shows we enjoy watching together.

I don't make judgments about people based on what they find entertainment. It's pretty much involuntary (and this goes for food, beverages, etc.)what you enjoy

I love movies that I instantly know how I feel about it. Some movies make me feel a certain way, some produce an experience (avatar in theaters? you just don't feel the same when it's not 3d imax)or that are engaging.

Sometimes I notice the details and how I'm made to feel a certain way, sometimes I don't, but so long as I'm engaged with what I'm seeing on the screen.

so basically, I don't give two shits what I'm supposed to like.

I enjoy it because of the writing and time period being depicted.

I watched it some mostly because I like Shelley Long but never really got into it. As I said, a comedy really has be a hoot for me to be invested in it. I know my wife gets tired of me humming the Married With Children theme so but that was some of the funniest shite ever to me. LINK

As for Mad Men, yea, it was an interesting time to be growing up during the 50's and 60's. We were poor as Job's turkey but managed to get a television. I was in my 7th grade class (which was still elementary school back then) when our teacher announced that President Kennedy had been assassinated and some kids actually cheered. I saw the Beatles for the first time live on the Ed Sullivan Show and laughed at the girls screaming and swooning over Paul, John, George and Ringo. LINK

Watched The Babadook a couple of weeks back, 11pm at night, home alone, etc. Was a little "unsettled," but to me that was a good feeling. Most people avoid horror for that very reason.

If a movie can do that, I love it.

Arrested Development is not the comedic masterpiece people think it is. It really is not that funny and overall the show was stupid. Curb is a million times funnier.

I felt that way after seeing As good as it gets, with jack Nicholson. Didn't enjoy it at all, but I could certainly see it was well written and had a great cast, I just didn't like it at all
