I'd like movie goers to answer this. I'm more of a DVD guy due to my like of special features. I may go see one 2016 movie. The answers will help me make up my mind.

depends on the movie more than the rating.

If you want to avoid certain crowds go to late morning or early afternoon movies, likely have a row or two to yourself.

I go to movies a lot. According to my rewards card I went to 31 last year.

And it mainly depends on the movie and the day/time. But going to a theater isn't some huge ordeal your making it out to be

ETA: and there's nothing that can match seeing a great movie in the way it's supposed to look and sound on the big screen

Im guessing you mean trashiest. and I would say rating of the movie has zero to do with that. More like which theatre and movie you chose, demographics, and night/day you go. No way I go see Barbershop on a Saturday night. Not happening.

On weekdays. Also great for solo viewings.

Yeah weekday nights are good too because there usually are no more than 8 people, often less in the theater.

The worst movie experience I've had in a while was a 5 o clock Sunday showing of The Intern with a bunch of old farts who wouldn't shut the frick up. Just the luck of the draw.

Yeah I go alot too. The only time I'm in a packed theater is for the big comic book movies/huge blockbusters that people have been waiting years for and those people aren't causing a stir on a thursday night

I saw 4 movies in the theater in 2013. The last one was a horror movie (Evil Dead rated R) which was the only one of the four which had the most unlikeable audience members. They were very noisey before the movie started, to the point it was kind of annoying. Espeically the ones that looked like they were high school aged but somehow allowed in. I went at the noon showing under the reduced ticket price. It is the only price range ($5) I am willing to go for.

Oh, and I am considering to go see the upcoming TMNT 2 in theather. If I dont then it means I'll get it on DVD. It looks like it'll be a really fun movie to see in theater.

Hmm. It just could be the horror movies that attract the bad bunches at reduced price times at the theater in my area.

The Conjuring 2 comes out this year, but I am already planning on going for the DVD to it, especially since I always enjoy re-watching the first one I have on DvD when in the spirit of Halloween.

This.

And as other said, when you go plays a big part too.

My worst experiences are with films that draw in people that do not go to many movies.

If there are people in the theater that laugh out loud at the Geico commercial that plays before the trailers, you're in trouble.

Of all the movies to see in 2016, this is the one that can bring you back to the theatres after a 3 year absence?

I've never associated likeability of movie goers with the movie's rating. There are certain genres of movie that attract crowds I'd rather not share the movie experience with but the rating is usually irrelevant.
