Yep. It’s long game social conditioning.

Some pushback and some financial failure is ok, as long as they keep advancing the agenda over time.

For sure. Some folks have their heads in the sand. Disney marketed this movie just like any other. There just wasn't any excitement about this one after everyone found out it was more woke garbage, so it didn't gain any further traction after that.

It probably did BETTER at the box office as a result, because some people went simply because it is a "new Disney movie."

Honest question that I’ve had to ask myself about this, how do we know “when it’s forced” in the sense that it has ulterior motives?. It’s a movie, everything about it is scripted, forced, manufactured, etc.

The simple answer is we know it when we see it. Having a political message in art is not new it’s also not easy. The problem with a lot of these movies is they just beat you over the head with their political views.

I'll be honest. I didn't even know this was a movie. When I saw references to "Strange World," I thought it was some kind of series - maybe related to "Stranger Things."

So, I'm gonna say marketing was not great and they were lazy even coming up with the title.

Outside of the "woke" stuff everyone seems upset about, what is the basic plot of the movie?

Adventures find a plant that creates power. They split ways with one staying behind to explore more. After 25 years the plant starts to fail so the main character returns where he’s followed by his family. They meet up with the guy who stayed behind. Disagreements, twists, etc. Turns out the plant is a disease and the place they live is a huge animal with the plant attacking it’s heart. They kill the disease and have to find an alternate power source: wind turbines.

Disney thinks it's because of those that wait for it to come on streaming service.
Memo to Disney no one wants to watch this garbage and expose their kids to this garbage

They have the streaming data. They know it’s not because of streaming.

Maybe if enough of these bomb, they'll start to rethink the strategy a bit, that clearly kids movies with LGTBQ stuff doesn't work for the masses. The marketing was terrible though, I never saw a single preview for it other than someone on here posting it a while back. That's the first time I can remember that I didn't see a single trailer for a Disney movie on TV.

Also, Disney needs to change up the look of their kids movies a bit too. I have no idea what the style they use so much is called but the big nose and eyes, silly look needs to go away for a bit and go at least a little slightly more realistic.

Iger is already telling people Disney is going back neutral on politics. For now, it’s all lip service and PR to save face. But I agree it has to show in the product. The product in the parks, on TV and on the big screen.

It comes down to organically derived from an artists inspiration versus mandated through ideological directive

That all sounds good but how much of the old woke regime is already in progress yet to be released? Will it be 2+ years until the ship is righted?

Not happening. He is the one that started all of this with his pal Obama. "Reimagine Tomorrow" was his brainchild.

He may slightly back off on the gay stuff but then he would just channel his wokeness in other ways (race, climate, socialism, etc).

Maybe not, but he’s on video in a meeting stating this.
