Problem was I discovered it at 10 and watched it til two this morning.

Vikings is a really good show. The wife actually prefers it over GOT.

I love Vikings. It's like Game of Thrones without 90% of the fantasy elements, 100% of the gay sex, and fewer moving parts. It's simply a solid solid show. The first season is simply outstanding television. 2nd season meanders a bit as the plot begins to widen. The 3rd season suffers from the same issue, but it has enough awesome moments to carry it. So far (I'm probably 2 episodes behind), this season has seemed a little odd/slow. However, bad episodes of Vikings are better than 90% of all other cable tv shows.

It's a wonderful show. Somehow on a limited budget they manage to have great sets, costumes, and even cut out the cheap CGI. The mysticism used is nicely done as well.

Vikings, GOT, Hell on Wheels, and Black Sails are my current go to period shows.
