that wasn't a dig, that was a bomb dropped on them

The Bill Cosby set-up in the LA hour was just fricking magnificent.

He came really close to justifying Bill Cosby's rapes.

Loved the tie back to the superhero thing "he rapes, he saves, but he saves more than he rapes"

It was funny but not as funny as I expected. It did seem like he was going to the well for material... it didn't feel original.

Did the depressed comic with the Netflix special write his old stand up stuff or did he only write for the Chappelle show?

My favorite stand up bit of all time is when he talks about phone numbers in movies.

"Hello is Indiana jones there?"

Spitting out coffee just thinking about it

Dave's two specials completely shite on Amy Schumer's standup. He could have read a phone book and I'd rather watch that than her try hard at crass feminist humor.

I watched the 1st one last night and thought it was great. He's close to my age and had a lot of topics from my youth, such as The Challenger, Care Bears, Bill Cosby. His part about warning the gays and other groups to stop being so angry all of the time was actually a decent PSA. Explaining the Manny P. comments and history behind how we've emasculated Asians was interesting.

Are you talking about Louis CK?

Because he's pretty goddamn famous at this point.

I don't think so. I think he explained it well with the chocolate ice cream analogy. He looked up to him, that's all. You can't completely hate your heroes just because they did something awful.

I thought the specials were ok. He really needs to stop doing that "I cracked myself up and need to slap my own leg with the mic" maneuver. After he did it the second time it just felt forced.

I don't know. Louis CK wrote for everyone in town before he became famous for his own standup and show. He wrote for Chris Rock quite a bit, not Chappelle.

Thought this guy might have just been confused. I didn't even think about Neal Brennan, so its probably him he is talking about.

He's definitely always done the "I crack myself up" thing in his old standups. He even did it on Chappelle Show sometimes.

The thing that weirded me out was how much he kept petting his jacket or whatever. It was so much that it was distracting. He kept doing it over and over. It was weird.

The setup early on that led to the buildup of the Cosby joke was fantastic.

And the dig at K&P...I didn't really think it was a dig more than it was just him commenting on how much it bothered him that he backed away and then saw people doing the same thing he did but he had to watch from relative obscurity. I think K&P would both readily admit how heavily influenced they were by Chappelle Show.

And he didn't excuse Cosby for raping women. He talked about how bad that was. But that was one of his idols. Like someone mentioned, the chocolate ice cream comparison is a good one. And it's no different than Chris Rock with his OJ jokes about "I'm not saying he should've killed her....but I understand."
