If you haven't seen the first two seasons, do yourself a favor and watch them (It's a German show so watch the English subtitle version, not the dubbed).

Dark is easily in my top 5 shows of all time. Season 1 is awesome, Season 2 is remarkable. The plot is complex but very easy to follow. The acting is great and the writing is other worldly. The score and locations are phenomenal.

Yep. Can't wait. I binged the first two seasons back in March when this whole pandemic/lockdown BS got going. It feels like forever ago.

Slight thread hijack, if you like Dark you should check out 12 Monkeys (TV show) on Hulu. It's not quite as tight as Dark but it's another time travel show where all the pieces over 4 seasons fit together pretty well. It's also a pandemic show that happens in the late 20 teens, so it kind of fits with the times.

A little quiz for the true fans. Who said this to whom?
"I think we're a perfect match. Never think anything else?
Another question. Later on that night after that exchange did anyone take advantage of another when one thought the only thing talked about earlier was showing his grandmother how to use a laptop?

Hint:

Wife and I just started, 2 episodes in and we are hooked.

However, I can’t get it out of my mind that this is just like stranger things? The plot lines through 2 episodes are nearly identical.

I never got to season 3 in Stranger Things. It's so much of a kids show to me. There is nothing even slightly innocent or happy about Dark. I love it but I'm feeling a lot of shite is going to happen in S3. There may not even be a single smile to be seen. For example there will be no swimming at the lake scene in S3. Likely to be a lot of menacing swirling god particle stuff.

Trying to think how the plot lines were close... I have seen both seasons twice and it is nothing at all like Stranger Things. Keep watching! It is fantastic

My body is ready. I'm binging 1 and 2 this weekend to prep. I'm on 1-8 and there's already a lot I had forgotten.

Some notes as I rewatch (spoilers):
The montage at the end of 1-3 is amazing. There are other similar ones that show split screen stills of the aged characters. But this one is the best.

S1-8 explains soooo much. And yet there's still so much unanswered. We haven't even gotten to old Claudia yet.

Agnes is

Who was Agnes' husband and is he really dead?

Do we find out where Aleksander comes from?

Hannah is a C

In 1-10 I think I missed the first time I watched, when Noah tells Bartosz that older Jonah closing the hole is actually what opens it (paradox). I think before I never trusted what Noah was saying, but now I think we can take him for his word. I think they're all acting in good faith to stop it all, it's just that nobody really know how.

Where has old Claudia been between 86 and 19?

Poor Egon. He's just trying to do the right thing his whole life, but he never quite gets it. And you can't blame him for not figuring out fricking time travel. And this scene with old Claudia telling young Egon she's sorry. Damn.

Where did Bartosz get the briefcase machine? I guess Noah, but where did he get it?

We are all in! Some of the similarities:

- Nuclear plants / shady government facility nearby
- Strange things happening past and present to residents
- Group of kids in the woods, one goes missing
- One missing kid is the plot backdrop
